@Benthepigg@TheIndianaBison@PopCrave Imo going to college or entering the workforce does a lot for broadening people’s perspectives. Throw in the fact that 16 year olds are generally idiots and don’t have like 10 more years of brain development left before they’re done, & it’s easy to see why they can be ignorant.
@Benthepigg@TheIndianaBison@PopCrave I would disagree with that wholeheartedly. At 16, people generally have spent their entire lives up to that point living in their hometown with their parents. Essentially exist in a bubble without being exposed to a lot of different world views & perspectives.
@yaxelmuse@onballcreator@DeanO_Lytics Obi has actually turned into a pretty good shooter on the pacers. Shot 40% from 3 in 23/24 & 37% last season.
@_sunnyy@TheIndianaBison@PopCrave It is definitely much much better to have said something dumb as a 16 year old vs as a college educated adult with a graduate degree.
@Benthepigg@TheIndianaBison@PopCrave While I don’t entirely disagree w/what you said, I’d also wager that the vast majority of us wouldnt want to be judged by some of the things we did/said when we were 16. Even if they aren’t dumb know nothing kids, 16 year olds are still idiots with limited knowledge of the world
@xxSnEaKyPxx @HaliMuse Sure, I don’t disagree that the class is very deep & that’s a big part of the hype as well. But having multiple generational talents at the top of the draft is the primary driving force behind the hype. Hence why I can stomach trading the pick with the top 4 protection
@xxSnEaKyPxx @HaliMuse He’s also maybe the worst defender in all of college basketball (not saying acuff isn’t good, but his defense is atrocious & a problem). The class is unreal but the biggest reason it’s getting so much hype is because of the guys that are gonna go in the top 4.
@xxSnEaKyPxx @HaliMuse Are they? This is a hyped up class for sure but that doesn’t mean everyone who goes top 10 is gonna be an all star, & almost all of the guys mocked 5-10 are PGs. They do, but I find it hard to believe we’d be able to trade the 5th pick for a more valuable player than Zubac
@xxSnEaKyPxx @HaliMuse I would only think rebuilding/tanking teams would feel that way. Whats the likelihood that the whoever is picked at 5 ends up being a better player than Zubac? & beyond that, what’s the likelihood that they’re going to be that good within our title window the next 2-3 seasons?
@blakewidmer@MattNorlander I don’t think he’s saying Michigan didn’t give him a bag, I think he’s just saying Dusty wasn’t using the money as the focal point of his recruiting pitch.
@walmartbrawls@PDawg206 Are you under the impression that high school recruits are going to schools to play basketball for free? They’re just as much “mercenaries” as transfers are. No need for all the pearl clutching.
@bigtenburner@pensign@PDawg206 Yaxel chose to transfer to Michigan & work on the things he got feedback on at the nba combine to improve his draft stock, over being a late first round pick in the last draft.
