In July, our iGEM team had the amazing opportunity to collaborate with the University of Rochester's Upward Bound program, introducing local high school students to the world of synthetic biology! They created their own glowing bacterial art while learning the science behind it!

Delighted to support iGEM Rochester's CyanoPrint project that tackles climate change! Using modified cyanobacteria like Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803, they're creating a bio-photovoltaic cell to sequester CO2 and generate green energy. #iGEM2024#synbio@ur_igem
First Hardware Update! A few of our hardware team members met with Eileen Feeney Bushnell, a professor at Rochester Institute of Technology specializing in screen printing with microbes. We had a great time and look forward to meeting with her again!
