@DaRadicalCasual@JasonJournoDC I think that depends on what she means by, "slightest of things has touched off something that can’t be reversed." Does she mean the shove was the slightest thing that led to the stabbing, or does she mean the stabbing was the slightest thing that led to jail?
@rios_ucio@THighgate11@elmayimbe WTF are you talking about? Why are you talking about $100 million movies? You said there was no risk because the movie only cost $700k. You’re wrong. The current ownership group, which includes Jason Blum, has $25+ million invested.
@RMBee Everyone wants to pretend the film only cost $700k while ignoring the fact that Focus bought the rights for $15 million and spent another $10+ million marketing it. Barker got paid when he sold the rights. The new cost basis for the movie is $25 million.
@rios_ucio@THighgate11@elmayimbe $700k is what Barker spent to produce it. Focus Films got into a bidding war after TIFF and purchased the rights for $15 million. Then they spent another $10+ million to market the film. There is absolutely risk when you spend $25 million on a YouTuber’s first movie.
@Thenamesbryce@DietWaterGUY@coffeebreak_YT It’s tough to tell whether or not Chystal was actually stealing or just really disorganized. It does seem like she hadn’t paid Bryan for about $20k worth of Legos, but she’s clearly in video trying to find the sales receipts for Bryan when they kicked her out. Could go either way

@IamSean90 I think Ben’s lawyers will remove this to federal court. Judge Graf seems wholly incapable of being impartial in this case. Moreover, I don’t Ben wants the local community as his jurors. It should be easy to take federal given 3 separate states being involved.
@The_PunKing It's such a poorly reasoned and written TRO. Judge Graf should be ashamed. I've liked him in the Charlie Kirk hearings, but this order is amateur hour.
@ib63319@rationalhumanis 1) it wasn’t a Hollywood movie
2) the people that made it for $750k didn’t make $250 million either. They sold the rights for $15 million.
@ib63319@Arch0n42 I dont think you understand what the word risk means. Yes the production company risked their money. They could have lost it all. The art director didnt risk her time. She sold her time for a guaranteed salary. She could have signed a risky revenue sharing contract for less money
