🚀 We’ve officially kicked off our 1-month HEC-HMS & HEC-RAS training! 🌊💻
From day one, the energy, curiosity, and commitment from our members have been incredible. We’re building real skills in hydrological & hydraulic modeling to tackle water challenges in our communities.💧
Meet the top winners of the Water Modeling Hackathon 2026, young innovators who stood out for developing cutting-edge solutions to Rwanda’s water challenges.
The Water Modeling category focused on hydrological modeling of the Nyagisozi sub-catchment and flood hazard assessment downstream using HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS, while the Erosion Control category challenged participants to extract radical terraces from satellite images or orthophotos using R or Python.
The winners walked away with a cash prize of RWF 1,000,000, while runners-up each received RWF 750,000 in recognition of their outstanding performance.
Proud moment for UR–YWP! 💧🎉

from yesterday as UR–YWP participated in the 3-day Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) Forum 🌍
Engaging with experts, innovators, and policymakers, we explored sustainable, climate-resilient solutions for water and environmental management.
Youth Voice Matters.
Yesterday felt different.
@ywprwanda led a session on Green Job Creation & Youth Engagement during the Forum on Urban and Peri-Urban Nature-Based Solutions.
We explored how NbS are more than just restoring ecosystems, they create jobs, build skills, and open doors for youth.
