When #readingfc's survival sadly is, and always has been, dependent upon the goodwill & cooperation of just one person, perhaps, just perhaps, campaigns publicly abusing that person and portraying them as a clown weren't the best way to ensure that goodwill & cooperation?
@GotNotGot Suspect it might the "British League Cup", also sometimes called the "Coronation Cup" - played in June 1902 to benefit the Ibrox Disaster fund
Just in case anyone missed it, I wrote this piece yesterday about the constraints the EFL have when performing financial checks on potential owners #ReadingFC

@RFCJoeJ@TheTilehurstEnd Did you not read the article, then? It explains exactly why the results that the PL might have gained are not available for use by the EFL - and what might happen if they tried to use them.
The only practical way to resolve the awful situation at #readingfc is to have Toby Jones star in a TV drama showing how inadequate football's ownership rules are.
Almost immediately the government will jump on the bandwagon and start doing what they should have done years ago.
The current #readingfc situation shows just how pointless the EFL's points deductions are.
Any more won't have any deterrent effect on the owner as he clearly doesn't give a monkey's.
All they'll do is further damage the club and make it less attractive to potential buyers.
@AskLyft Hi - I'm trying to Request Review of a trip where the driver didn't report an accident so I'm charged for it even though the it lasted only 0.2M and didn't complete. But I can't verify my account by SMS or phone, maybe as I have a UK phone number. Please can you help?
@BBCNews The Irish police have some intelligence about the Sycamore Gap tree being cut down and now believe that the lad arrested had two accomplices. They've told Northumbria Police they should be looking for tree fellas...
@JohnBeech Presumably some new meaning of the word "investment" that actually means "throwing considerable sums of money away and getting nothing back in return for it"...
@royalbeech If that's the case (and I'm not arguing it's not), why use the word "investment", which is categorically about doing things for profit/gain.
Perhaps the #readingfc statement should read "looking for a secondary idiot to throw his/her money at a loss-making, basket-case club"?
Why would any sane and rational person make any kind of "investment" in a football club that's debt-ridden, consistently losing money and where they'd only have a minority interest? "Investment" is meant to make money, not wave it goodbye...
#readingfc
@maffff@dingjme Maybe it's a difference in outlook. I'm convinced Dai is utterly toxic & has irredeemably moved on from #readingfc.
I'm also convinced the club is now so toxic that it's unsaleable - except to owners even more toxic.
So for me all focus should be about how to keep it alive.
@maffff@dingjme The big difference, though, is that the person who could affect change was sitting in the director's box watching people wave pants.
I'm just concerned that Dai is on the other side of the world and won't give a monkey's about anyone throwing socks.
