Happy World Environment Day!
May today serve as a reminder that protecting our world means protecting the people, communities, and future generations who depend on it.
At USCRI, our impact is powered by people. This Memorial Day Weekend, USCRI Vermont embodied that spirit by participating in the M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon & Relay, helping raise awareness for refugees and immigrants rebuilding their lives in Vermont.
Whether serving clients, strengthening communities, or running for a cause, our staff and volunteers make our mission possible. A special thank you to USCRI Vermont and everyone who participated!

Last week, USCRI Kenya began distributing 3,000 dignity kits to girls in Kakuma Refugee Camp.
Each kit included sanitary pads, underwear, soap, and washcloths. More than basic necessities, these kits were a reminder that the world believes in these girls and the futures they deserve.
It's never too late to become a Dream Keeper.

A period should never stand in the way of a girl’s future.

No girl should have to miss out on her education because of her period.
That is why USCRI launched Keep Girls Dreaming. Over the past two years, we have delivered more than 1.4 million sanitary pads to refugees in Kenya, providing a full year’s supply to more than 12,000 girls.
This year, USCRI is expanding the program to provide dignity kits containing menstrual hygiene products, washcloths, underwear, and soap. These kits offer more than basic necessities. They provide girls with dignity, stability, and the support needed to continue their education with confidence.
Your donation can be the difference between a girl pursuing her future in a classroom or staying home in shame.

USCRI welcomes the news that Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Lebanon has been extended until November 27, 2026.
This marks the first TPS extension issued by this Administration for any population and will provide continued protection and work authorization for an estimated 11,000 Lebanese TPS holders across the United States.
For thousands of families, TPS means the ability to keep working, keep supporting their children, and keep building a life in safety while their home country remains unsafe. USCRI will remain steadfast in its advocacy to uphold the rights, safety, and dignity of TPS holders and all displaced people. #ProtectTPS #LebanonTPS

Eid al-Adha Mubarak from all of us at USCRI.
Today, we honor the values of compassion, sacrifice, generosity, and community that are at the heart of Eid al-Adha. As families and communities gather in celebration around the world, we recognize the strength and resilience of displaced individuals rebuilding their lives far from home.
We wish peace, joy, and unity to all who are celebrating.
A girl’s period should never stand in the way of her future. Yet for many girls living in Kakuma Refugee Camp, it does.
Through USCRI’s Keep Girls Dreaming initiative, we are helping restore dignity, confidence, and opportunity by providing menstrual hygiene products to girls living in refugee camps. So far, we have distributed sanitary products to more than 12,000 girls, helping them stay in school, protect their health, and continue pursuing their dreams.
Every donation is more than a hygiene product. It is dignity. It is confidence. It is the chance for a girl to continue showing up for her education and her future.
Be the reason a girl in Kakuma can keep dreaming. Donate at: https://t.co/tXxX0FJ2DW
This Memorial Day, we honor all those who gave their lives in service to the United States and in defense of liberty, dignity, and justice for all, including the countless immigrants and refugees who have courageously served this country in uniform.
Their sacrifice reminds us of the courage required to protect freedom and the shared responsibility we carry to uphold compassion, humanity, and hope for future generations.
Today, and every day, we thank them.

Let us condemn discrimination, violence & racism. Say #NoToRacism and #NoToHate.
Refugee children are not defined by the crises they survived. They are students, future leaders, and changemakers whose potential should never be limited by displacement.
In collaboration with LRC, USCRI is uplifting the urgent need to invest in education, stronger futures, resilient communities, and the next generation of leaders.

This is a story of setbacks. A story of hardship. Most of all, a story of resilience.
Even when systems failed her, Batoul refused to give up on herself. And USCRI Twin Falls refused to give up on her either.
Again and again, she rebuilt. Again and again, her community showed up beside her.
