Artisans gained hands-on skills in solar water pump installation, maintenance & business management.
The programme concluded with the awarding of certificates recognizing their commitment and newly acquired skills.

On Day 3 of the ongoing technical training at Kotido Technical Institute, participants shifted their focus to the installation & maintenance of solar-powered water pumping systems under the Climate-Resilient WASH Programme
Ongoing (20–24 Apr 2026): @useaug, with @UNICEFUganda & @KoicaUganda, is training artisans in Kotido on solar-powered water systems.
Skills in installation, maintenance & repair will boost sustainable WASH services and safe water access across Karamoja.

The specialized Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) training at Moroto Technical Institute successfully concluded with a certification ceremony recognizing the dedication and achievement of all 45 participants.

Artisans participating in the ongoing WASH training at Moroto Technical Institute put their newly acquired skills into action.
After several days of hands-on training, trainees were tasked with repairing a faulty solar-powered water system at Kalotom Primary School in Napak.
Day three of the ongoing Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Training at Moroto Technical Institute placed strong emphasis on practical, hands-on learning.
The session focused on water surveying, system sizing, and installation of solar-powered pumping systems.
A specialized Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Training is currently underway at Moroto Technical Institute from 10th to 14th March 2026 bringing together artisans from across the South Karamoja cluster.
