Coding agents are getting more capable, but working together is still the missing piece.
Concord brings shared context, task ownership, and agent-to-agent coordination into one workspace.

Let your agents talk before they collide.
npm install -g concord-ai/concord-mcp
concord setup
Local-first and MIT licensed. Agents on different machines? concord cloud login, free during early access.

Claims are nice. Claims that block edits are better.
concord check exits 1 when another active task owns the file. Put it in a pre-commit hook, in CI, or in a Claude Code PreToolUse hook with || exit 2, and the second agent can't overwrite the first.
Agent sessions crash, hit limits, or get closed mid-task. Their claims stay behind.
Concord flags the stale claim, shows the notes the agent left, and lets another agent take over with an explicit accept.
No more guessing which files are half-done.
One layer under every agent you run.
concord setup writes the MCP config for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, Grok Build, Goose, Copilot CLI and Antigravity in one go. It merges into your existing config and is safe to re-run.
Any other MCP-capable agent works too.
Concord's whole MCP surface is 5 tools:
- start_work
- inspect_work
- update_work
- transfer_work
- finish_work
No orchestrator. No new agent. Just shared work-state your existing agents read and write. Ownership is versioned, so two agents can't grab the same task.
Claude Code and Codex, two different harnesses, sorting out who owns a file:
codex: claim page.tsx
concord: claude-code already owns it
codex: I'll take src/app/api. ok?
claude: yes, I'll use your API contract
No human copy-pasting context between windows.
Fast alone. Broken together.
Run 2-3 coding agents on one repo and you get:
→ 3 PRs for one bug
→ red main after merging
→ rebase after rebase
The fix isn't a smarter agent. It's letting agents see each other's work before they edit.
Every engineer ships 10× the code now.
The team doesn't ship 10× faster.
Concord is the MCP layer that lets Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI and more message each other, claim work, and stop colliding.
