On Thursday, Honestly did the impossible.
We grinded our way to a top spot on @ProductHunt with 10x less resources than competitors.
But we’re not done yet.
We’re 10 votes away from top #3 product of the week - help us get there (check comments)!

AI agents are overrunning the internet. Finding real customer opinions is getting harder by the day.
You know the feeling.
You search for what people actually think about your product.
Half the "reviews" are AI-generated. The other half are sponsored.
Real opinions are buried somewhere between bots and paid posts.
I used to spend hours scrolling Reddit threads and TikTok comments just to find the truth.
Then I found @usehonestly, which launched today on Product Hunt.
It cuts through the chaos of social media by discovering verified conversations about your product across Reddit, TikTok, X, YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook - then turns them into insights your team can actually act on.
Here's what it does:
➟ Crawls every platform where real shoppers talk
➟ Verifies every opinion, removing anything that isn’t authentic
➟ Identifies customer feedback at the product level (not just brand)
➟ Surfaces trends across domestic and overseas markets
➟ Spots creators already talking about your products (unclaimed affiliates = money left on the table)
No more dashboards full of noise, just the signal that matters.
What this actually means:
✓ Fix product issues before they go viral
✓ Catch trends before your competitors to maximize social reach
✓ Recover lost revenue by onboarding creators already promoting you
32B "[product] reddit" searches per year.
90% of consumers say authenticity matters.
79% trust unpaid UGC over brand content.
The real conversation isn't on your review page anymore.
👉 Stop guessing what your customers are saying. Know it.
📌 See what social media honestly thinks about your product → https://t.co/gA6IkJw1vK

be honest → you don't trust the reviews on your own website either.
when you actually want the truth about something, you do what everyone does. open a tab. type "[product] reddit." trust a stranger over a 5-star rating that was probably bought.
that exact search happens 32 billion times a year.
let that sink in → the opinion that decides your sales isn't on your site. it's in a reddit thread, a tiktok review, a comment section you've never even read.
and it's about to get worse → bots already outnumber humans online. soon "just read the comments" breaks too, because half the comments aren't people.
so the game quietly flipped.
it's not about finding opinions anymore. anyone can scrape social.
it's about proving which ones are real → human, not a bot, not a paid post.
that's the entire moat now.
the brands that win won't be the ones listening hardest → they'll be the ones who can still tell what's real.
honestly is built on exactly this.

Funny story about Honestly
I met Scott a few months ago after their first Product Hunt launch. It was one of the funniest launch stories I’ve heard
( they literally didn’t even know they were launching that day)
And still ended up in the top 5. 😂
After that, we jumped on a call. At the time, there was no clear plan to work together on a future launch. It was more of a casual conversation about the product, the market, and where Honestly could go next.
But when the team decided to relaunch, things changed. This time, we started preparing properly.
And now Honestly is currently #1 on Product Hunt.
With a bit more support, Scott and the team are very close to Product of the Day. But it’s not an easy race.
They’re up against a strong YC-backed startup, so every comment, review, and bit of attention matters.
Really happy to be hunting Honestly today.
If you care about real customer conversations, product insights, social listening, or understanding what people actually say online, check them out.
Nobody trusts the reviews on your website. They open a new tab and Google "[your product] reddit."
That happens 32 billion times a year — because a stranger with nothing to gain beats a 5-star rating you might've paid for.
But here's what breaks it: bots already outnumber humans online. Soon "just read the comments" stops working too.
The game isn't finding opinions anymore. It's proving which ones are real.
That's the whole moat now.

Honestly is live on @ProductHunt 🚀
It’s our biggest launch ever and we’re pouring everything into it.
We’re #2 as a bootstrapped company- a YC startup with millions in funding is at #1.
If you can support, it would mean the world and show you can still win while staying lean!
we accidentally launched on product hunt today
forgot to update the date
we’re #4 with 230+ upvotes
if you want to help us climb higher, go upvote Honestly :)

Everyone is talking about Co-Work, it's great. I actually opted to use @NebulaAI for most of the operations tasks while building Honestly. We're #4 on product Hunt now!
If you have the chance to check us out and leave us an upvote it would be amazing :)

I'm excited to finally share a new project @Kalvinkaz and I have been working on.
Meet @usehonestly.
One thing has never changed when online shopping: we don't trust 5-star reviews.
We want to fix that.
Honestly is a Chrome extension that brings real product opinions from Reddit, TikTok, and YouTube directly to the page where you're shopping.
We filter out ads, AI-generated content, and sponsored posts.
For the last four years, building TradeUp taught us one thing: trust is the hardest thing to build online. We got strangers to send tens of thousands of collectibles to other strangers. That lesson never left us.
I'm so happy to say that building Honestly has given us a problem worth solving.
To everyone who tested early versions and told us the truth, thank you. You can't build something honest without honest people.
The 5-star system is broken. We're building what comes next.
We're live.
Today, we're releasing Honestly.
It does the research in seconds by surfacing real reviews from TikTok, YouTube, and Reddit while filtering out AI and ads.
You will never have to worry about fake reviews… ever again.
Available for free on Chrome.
Trust will become the most valuable asset in 2026.
Brands using AI UGC farms will hurt.. recovery will be hard.
Everyone should focus on building trust with their consumers ASAP.
It's 2026 and AI shopping tools still give you this:
"Customers like this product. It fits well and is comfortable."
That's a rewritten product description. It tells you nothing.
So we built Honestly - real opinions from Reddit, TikTok, YouTube surfaced while you shop.
No AI summaries. No sponsored content.
Closed beta in 5 days. Link in bio
Did a couple of user tests today at the office and got great feedback on the UI again.
Functionality-wise it’s great, but many of the features (like click to see the reply thread) were not obvious.
Iterating on this and will have a new version out tomorrow!
