It romanticizes domestic abuse, gaslighting and sexual assault. It depicts PoC as either stereotypical gangsters or druggies. Drug and cartel crimes were just accessory to prob up the main lead. It’s even misogynistic too, the male lead caused a woman to miscarry her baby, and she ended up working for him as a waitress no questions asked, while that gangster walked away basically scotch free, after committing mass murder, dealing drugs and getting rich on dirty money and abusing his partner the MC for 20 years.

I admire her integrity so much. While others could have continued anyway she took criticism to heart and made what must have been such a difficult decision. Honestly I still think people made judgement way too quickly with just 1 single chapter, even throwing around misinformation and racist remarks towards others, but if the author herself decided to end it as is, then it is what it is. One thing I can definitely say for sure is through this incident, I have even more trust in Jaxx as a creator and would definitely look forward to their future work. Back to rereading Under the green light for the umpteenth time while waiting for side stories.
