The movie Obsession is such a good example of how marketing has changed in recent years.
A small independent horror film with a handful of relatively unknown young actors and a production budget of just $750k.
They went on to generate over $500 million in ticket sales... There's an important lesson here for brands working with creators.
You don't need famous people to make content that millions of people can see and want to watch. If anything it just makes you want to skip past it cause your primed to know:
celebrity talking about a product = ad
You need people who are authentic, confident on camera, and are just naturally good at keeping peoples attention.
Give those creators a good product, a strong content idea, and a script to go with it. Then just let the magic happen.
Social algorithms don't care how much you paid the person in the video nor if they have 150k followers. They care about watch time and engagement.
Yet so many brands still pay premiums for creators simply because they have large follower counts.
We don't do that at NextClip and we never will. The market for micro creators being your most valuable team member is only growing. Exciting times to live in.
