@sisco_iT I mean honestly it was a tactical masterclass from Iga. The height and weight Iga hit with was too good. Naomi tried to play her game but literally couldn’t because of Iga’s ball. Not to mention the conditions were awful for Naomi; night match, clay, humid, windy, just so tough.
@anasonice@naomiosaka I truly was not sad AT ALL after her semi. Such an amazing tournament and I was so proud of her focus and effort when she was down in the 3rd set. Kept trying and trying… 6 months ago she would’ve lost 6-1 but now she nearly got it back on serve
Naomi Osaka on the Taylor Townsend & Jelena Ostapenko situation at U.S. Open:
“It’s one of the worst things you can say to a Black tennis player in a majority White sport.”
“I think it's ill timing and the worst person you could have ever said it to. And I don't know if Ostapenko knows the history of it in America”
@kvitalep She used it for a couple months either earlier this year or last, but uses the blade. No idea why she randomly started using one of the old versions. She’s been using the new one since it came out I believe
@AnnaK_4ever If Kalinskaya doesn’t perform well and hands over an easy loss, it’s shines negatively on her, and not to mention it’s frustrating for paying fans. (2/2)
@AnnaK_4ever For a professional athlete, this scheduling is absolutely egregious. For a normal person, yes, a day off and an 11am start the following is nothing to complain about. But again, athletes need to prioritize having an ideal recovery period if they want to perform their best.
