Sex is the most beautiful, most powerful, most spiritual, most creative force on planet Earth because sex is the very thing that created us.
But sex also reveals things about us that we don't always want to see. It can reveal whether you're comfortable receiving love or whether you're always performing, whether you can be completely present or you're lying there wondering how you look, what your partner is thinking, and whether you're still desired.
It can reveal whether you feel safe enough to let someone truly see you without pretending, controlling, or trying to be perfect.
And I don't think enough people ever experience that kind of intimacy because when two people can stop performing and simply be present with each other, sex becomes more than something physical.
It becomes an exchange of trust, desire, vulnerability, and love. And when you truly value yourself, you become much more careful about who gets access to that part of you.
You stop wanting intimacy with just anyone. You want it with the rare person who can meet you with the same presence, the same openness, and the same love.
