Rejection is part of the game, but so is perseverance. Every actor has been told “no,” but that’s not where the story ends. Use rejection as a tool to improve your craft and fuel your determination in this fast-paced industry. As Omari Morocco puts it, “Acting is cool… Don’t be caught doing it.” To truly bring a character to life, you must fully embody the role, letting go of your own identity, so the audience sees only the character, not the actor.
It’s okay to feel nervous when the stakes are high—it means you care. Remember, every step on set is yours to own. Embrace your role with confidence, even when sharing the stage with legends. Success in acting comes from resilience, authenticity, and a passion for the craft. -Omari Morocco during the Actors Workshop at UCC Bugolobi.
