Today on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, The US Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad, joins others around the world, to remember the victims and survivors of the Holocaust, and their families.
#HolocaustMemorialDay, #RememberAndReflect
For the last 40 years, the U.S. Commission for the Preservation of America's Heritage Abroad has worked on behalf of U.S. citizens to protect and preserve heritage sites in Central and Eastern Europe. Your donations help support this important work! #GivingTuesdaycampaign
Did you know that the mother of #womenbasketball was a Jewish girl from #Lithuania?
Senda Berenson Abbott was born in Vilnius in 1868. She moved to Boston in 1875. She taught basketball to the women of Smith college in 1892, just a year after the men’s version had been invented.
Happy #InternationalWomensDay!
As we celebrate the contributions and lives of women around the world, we highlight an important project we are working on to preserve the history of #jewishwomen at the Žiežmariai Synagogue in #Lithuania. Support this project/link in bio!

With great sadness I share the passing of our esteemed colleague & great friend, Dr. Richard Freund.
https://t.co/8fkflLeq0G
Dr. Freund dedicated so much of his life to remembering those lost souls of the Holocaust, helping to shed light on their fate & keep their memory alive.
We are appalled by reports that Russian bombs have struck near the memorial site of Babyn Yar, killing more people where tens of thousands of Jews were massacred in the Holocaust. We condemn this brutal war against Ukraine.
We @USHeritageComm stand with the people of Ukraine #UnitedwithUkraine and condemn the bombing of their country. The loss of life and killing of civilians near the Babyn Yar memorial is immoral and heartbreaking. @SecBlinken@StateSEHI
On #HolocaustRemembranceDay the U.S. Commission honors the lives lost during the Holocaust and reaffirms our commitment to preserve and protect American’s heritage abroad. #neverforget#weremember
