Fresh pressure is reportedly mounting on the 2027 Presidential Candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Peter Obi, to join forces with His Excellency, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, the 2027 Presidential Candidate and Vice Presidential Candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, respectively, to defeat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 Presidential election.

The latest call came on Friday, from Dr. Karl Von Batten, a very close Ally of United States of America, USA, President, Donald J. Trump.

Dr. Batten is an American Political Strategist/International Affairs Commentator and Managing Partner of the Washington-based Lobbying and Strategic Advisory Firm, Von Batten-Montague-York, L.C.

Reacting to the reports of alleged threats to Peter Obi's safety in Nigeria, under the President Bola Tinubu administration, Dr. Batten described the development as disturbing, and urged Nigeria's Opposition Leaders to close ranks, ahead of 2027.

His exact words: "The threats to Mr. Peter Obi's well-being are shocking. We pray for the safety of Mr. Peter Obi and his supporters."

He went further, arguing that Nigerians should look beyond ethnic, religious and regional divisions, as the 2027 elections come close.

He added: "We pray that Nigerians of all genders, religions and tribes, realise that they have a common enemy, who by all accounts, is prepared to do everything to stay in power."

Moreover, the most politically significant aspect of the statement was Dr. Batten's direct appeal to Peter Obi to align with Atiku and Amaechi, for the 2027 Presidential election.

He stated: "We hope Mr. Obi will join forces with former Nigerian Vice President Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, to form an A-Team that will unleash an unstoppable movement, to bring true change and prosperity to Nigerians."

Atiku brings extensive political structures across the country. Amaechi, a former Governor and former Minister of Transportation, is also regarded as a significant political figure with influence across parts of the South-South and Northern political establishment.

Should the three men (Atiku, Amaechi and Obi) eventually unite on a common platform, Political Analysts believe that the coalition would emerge as the strongest electoral challenge yet, to President Tinubu's re-election bid, that cannot and will not be defeated by the incumbent, no matter the strategy applied.
