Genesis 12:2–3 and Genesis 17 relate both Israel and the Gentiles to Abraham in God's purposes. When Galatians 3 discusses Gentile inclusion as Abraham's spiritual seed because of Jesus, it is not teaching the removal of Israel's significance in God's plan (see Romans 11).
@SHolmes66305 Yes, the Torah is the foundation for understanding all things eschatological, but even more than that for understanding world history, and the times we currently live in including geopolitics.
@theocraticking1 Agreed they are anti-God’s covenant with Israel, and in the case of Covenant Theology insist on replacing it by creating a structure of covenants not named in the Bible
@high_in_seattle@theocraticking1 I don’t think the argument is that Jews who don’t want to get saved will be saved by God anyway. I think the argument is that they genuinely turn to Jesus from the heart.
My thanks to Todd Friel for discussing my statement on how modern Israel and Israel in the Bible relate:
Everyone has opinions about Israel. Here’s what the Bible says. https://t.co/9X6Qu4tJP9 via @YouTube
@Kyle77778@rabbriansamuel If your theory is right that Jesus is using old wine as Judiasm here, why does Jesus say in Luke’s parallel passage that Judaism is better?
“And no one, after drinking old wine, wants new, because he says, ‘The old is better.’ ””
Luke 5:39 CSB
@Kyle77778@rabbriansamuel In context Jesus was answering the question for why his disciples do not fast. He was saying they are doing what's appropriate since He was still with them. To make that verse about Christianity's relationship to Judaism is wild.
@Michael15649622@mikevlach@testing521 The blessings of the Abrahamic covenant means that in the kingdom Israel will enjoy their allotted land, and the nations will all enjoy their own allotted land as well
@travismsnow@contramordor A lot of people are confused about election. Election in the mosaic covenant didn’t necessarily mean salvation. Election in the new covenant does mean salvation.
@mikevlach Yes and the new covenant was promised to the house of Israel and Judah. This is clearly the means to deliver on the promises. Heb 8 therefore contributes to Christian Zionism
@nate_oatsb@coachbrucepearl Is Israel replaced or not replaced (@Bryan1819News)? Its much easier to refute if you guys come to some sort of a consensus. I guess what you can agree on is spiritualizing Scripture when it suits your theology.
