I would like to ask for your much needed support on my AP #Research_project by completing this #survey to identify the factors that contribute to the #GenderPayGap for people in the labor force working in non-managerial positions. #Poll

If society says that men cannot be nurses, then some men will avoid that career in order to avoid judgement and thus keep on feeding the #stigma. If I want to be a nurse but society says no, and I listen, I am society.
There is always a pay gap if comparing different groups, but the gender pay gap has always been in favor of men. Cultural and societal factors seem to be the main reasons for this, so in order to reduce the gap men and women need to ignore their traditional norms. #GenderPayGap
Huge thank you to every medic that completed our gender pay gap survey. We received over 6,500 responses. Through this we will have the opportunity to analyse the impact on pay of personal and structural factors that other pay analyses can’t measure. More to come from us soon.
I doubt these results are only due to soft skills. The respondents seem to be evaluating the skills and then attaching them with the gender, ending up with a misconception. I don't know their thought process but their comments seem worrisome at face value. #WomeninBusiness
The most depressing research paper of 2018? "The Mark of a Woman’s Record: Gender and Academic Performance in Hiring" (Quadlin 2018, ASR). This is a correspondence study showing that women are penalized in job searches for having good university grades.

This is why we need representatives (especially minorities) who will fight for #EqualRights, because they are the ones who are willing to take risks and potentially fail.
Women might be afraid of calling out discrimination in the workplace in fear of being reprimanded by the corporation. But it takes upholding truth despite any consequences attached to make a difference, similarly to Rosa Parks. #Patriarchy
On this day in 1955, Rosa Parks refused to move bus seats just because she was a black woman, sparking the bus boycott that eventually ended bus segregation. As we fight against continued inequality and discrimination today, we can all be inspired by the courage of Rosa Parks.

Walking at night through a dark ally is not giving anyone consent to rob and kill me, neither are these women. Teaching men from a young age to respect and protect women would be the best solution. #Femicide2018
This would be very beneficial to low-wage women, especially single mothers. We should also consider payed maternity leave, as many women end in ruins due to losing their jobs and not having somebody able to support them. #gendergap
The under-representation of women in politics, along with ignorance, was what led to the discriminatory behavior against @Ocasio2018. A woman's place is in the house. And the senate. #misogyny#WomenInPolitics#AlexandriaOcasioCortez
- Dem Spouse + Member luncheon were at the same time today. I was sent to spouse event.
- Last night I was stopped bc it was assumed I was an intern/staffer
- Next time try believing women + people of color when they talk about their experiences being a woman or person of color
We find ample evidence of
discrimination against women, as employers are significantly less likely to hire a woman compared
to an equally able man.

Women won 92 seats in the House and 10 seats in the Senate, totaling 112 women, the highest number of women in Congress. #WomenInPolitics
