Yes Vance is smarter than Kamala, Newsome, Shapiro, or whoever they have to run, but he cannot seperate himself from Trump. He had that town hall like a week ago where he couldn’t handle the heat that came from legitimate critisms. Instead he just deflected and obfuscated, which isn’t going to work. The most damning piece of evidence is the Trump admins disastrous approval rating, especially among independents. He’s already at a lower number ato in his term than Biden was and independents have gone from 45% approval at inauguration to mid to low 20s in polls I found from July. That number is only going to keep dwindling as Dems take back the house and stagnate the administration. They also have zero effective messaging, they’re just pretending the economy is good (same as the Biden admin did) instead of addressing the concerns of constituents. It would be delusional not to see this is exactly the dirwdction this administration is headed
