Whenever I read a piece about the safety first mentality - which is a big part of moralizing AI - I would like to make its lecture obligatory in Germany, where we are focused on regulation and safety to a point of missing out on the productivity gains we need to stay competitive. One has to believe they knew when they refused to sing the anthem that they were making themselves and their families targets of the regime.

Thinking about it makes me cry. They’re so courageous. True freedom fighters.
