Do we really need Matheus Fernandes right now? After signing Ederson, I think Fernandes becomes more of a want than a necessity.

•Ederson is primarily an 8
•Matheus Fernandes is also an 8

Meanwhile, we still don’t have a proper 6.

So the question is: should Fernandes be the priority now, or a signing we revisit later once the midfield balance is sorted?

Yes, I know people will say Ederson can play as a 6 — and that may be true — but I still believe we need another natural defensive midfielder before thinking about adding another 8.

I like Matheus Fernandes a lot, but do I think we need him right now? Maybe not.

Secure the 6 first. Once the midfield foundation is stable and balanced, then we can move for Fernandes comfortably.
