Crazy how all the top 6 PL clubs have managers born within 2-3 years of each other and played in midfield.
Midfielders see the game differently. They see patterns, control rhythm and understand every phase of play.
Football has evolved. The midfielders are taking over.
@FrankEra_ We would need to sack first the person who decided we can do without signing a striker and a full-back before Carrick goes. If it's Wilcox or Berrada or anyone else.
We were moments from conceding: no intensity, tackles, take-ons or full-back runs. Still starting Shaw and Dalot in 2026 with zero intensity. Don’t understand how new signings adapt to this shit mentality when they were brought in to improve it; more often they adapt to the team’s slowness. Very frustrating against a 20th-placed team.
Weird half.
Don’t think we’ve been terrible ON the ball at all. But off it we still lack pace / intensity.
Cunha, Mbeumo and Mainoo been top.
Rashford’s finishing has been spooky.
The only club in the world where two losses trigger managerial-change discussions. One of those matches was unduly awarded by VAR officials to derby rivals. In the Everton match we drew because of a blinder in the 96th minute. Trust the manager and give the team time. Check how De Zerbi and Iraola are doing after getting far more backing in the transfer window.
@FrankEra_ He cannot keep his favourites out — in this case it's Rashford, also Shaw and Dalot. That's why he has to sacrifice Sesko just to keep Rashford's mood happy, not just to start him on merit.
It's not about Carrick or playing dismally against 10 men. The goal that stood today will dent the Premier League's image and impartiality worldwide. Being the best league in the world is not limited to spending the most on transfer fees or being physical; it should also mean the highest standard of refereeing. An apology later is of no use.
VAR cannot go lower than this. Officials just wanted to even things up by punishing #MUFC in return for Foden’s red card, which was the correct decision anyway. If anyone who knows football says Enzo is not playing the ball and Martinez and Lammens are not affected, then they don’t know football. That VAR team should not be refereeing a football game again.
🚨 Michael Carrick: “How you can say Enzo Fernandez does not interfer with the play literally is beyond me. It's staggering”.
“It's really weird to me how that's interpreted”.
“I could not understand it when I saw it, and then the explanation made it WORSE”, told Sky.
@FrankEra_ I'd rather go with De Ligt and Yoro. They give the height and speed we need to defend and attack. I'd love Licha as a CDM given his eye for that line-breaking pass.
@FrankEra_ Mata, Eriksen and now Tielemans are proper footballers, they can settle anywhere on the pitch and their technical abilities allow them to be on the same wavelength with Bruno.
Last year’s attcking lineup rebuild was better and more satisfying than this year’s midfield rebuild. Last year we went for our top targets and got them at decent prices. This year we got good players but not our first choices, it feels like we settled for the best within the available budget.
@FrankEra_ Few players have the inherent body strength to ward off opponents in tight situations and never lose the ball. A great player who should also start taking more shots on goal, as his shot placement is excellent.
@FrankEra_ He needs to start consistently in more physical PL games. He needs confidence and consistency to cement his place. He has great speed and mindset and could become one of the best.
@FrankEra_ Yes, this is the best 11. Especially, not playing Shaw, Maguire and Dalot automatically makes the team much better. Sesko as striker and Dorgu at LB make it perfect, as the performance showed. If we hadn’t played well, this could easily have been last season’s Grimsby.
@indykaila Typical mindset for the players who have played for #MUFC and thought that they have made it and they don’t need to perform. No hunger no joy for the sport. Without a club and still fighting for higher wages instead of fighting for more minutes 🤦♂️
@samuelluckhurst I think we were watching two different matches. The one we were seeing was where #MUFC dominated most of the game. Everton did not merit a point either, as both their goals were blinders. The point about Shaw and Dalot is the only part both matches had in common.
Analysing this game in detail. #MUFC controlled most of the game, the first half was pure domination and we should have scored to give us confidence. Everton created very few chances but lacked the killer instinct as their CF was shit. We should have closed these kinds of games if we scored two goals, but poor defending is always going to cost us points, as it has for quite some time. We conceded 50 goals in the PL last season compared to Arsenal’s 27; defence is what creates champions. We need to drastically improve our defending and stop playing Maguire, Dalot and Shaw together.
