👀🔴Last week, Tielemans basically told us the team spent most of preseason working with the ball and doing less running and less intense work…now I’m starting to understand what we saw against hull.
That clearly explains why we looked so weak in the second ball battles yesterday
Carrick want us to control games, but we all needs the leg to play them

Considering yesterday’s game, I have always asked what the purpose of preseason is a question I would like to pose to three people:
The Board
The Coach
The Players
For the Board, should it not be getting players out and players in?
For the Coach, should it not be optimising what was done in preseason?
For the Players, should it not be getting psyched for the season?
How did all these three fail?
The Board knew we needed players legs, athleticism, energy. Why not get them since May? (Some of us even went as far as to mention Sangare, Hackney, Andes.)
As for the Coach: Lacey was the best No. 10 all preseason. Let him start and ease Bruno in. Zirkzee played as a 9 in preseason; in 90 minutes you used three 9s and none was Zirkzee.
The Players: I can forgive or empathise with not being as technical or talented, but when it comes to effort and enthusiasm the playing field is level.
They have 6 days to the next game.
The Board: In midfield we need another pair of legs plus Baleba, whether Orozco or someone else, and for left back David Raum is the answer especially as he is experienced and has played with Sesko before. Most importantly the team lacks such a player (they hardly smile on the pitch).
The forward discussion needs looking into; Mateta or Toney should be the answer.
Baleba, David Raum, Mateta or Watkins and we are good.
The Coach: Michael Carrick, please don’t throw away your social credit.
Stop shoehorning players.
Stop accommodating players.
The Players: Fight, run, show you care about the team.
