How does every fintech and neobank end up with the exact same homepage?
A balance at the top. Three buttons underneath. Done.
Is your balance really the only thing you need to see? Or have we all just stopped trying?
In 20 years of digital banking, I haven't seen a single real improvement to this screen. We got dark mode and rounded corners and called it innovation.
The home screen is the most valuable real estate in the whole app — and we're all wasting it on a number you already know.
So I'll ask you: what would you actually want on your banking dashboard?
Just got home from 10 incredible days at @hfarmspa, surrounded by some of the best founders in Italy.
Hard to put into words how energizing it is to live and work alongside people who share your vision and your level of ambition. No small talk, no "what do you do?", just builders who get it.
Because the truth is: this path is lonely more often than people admit. Most of the time you're the only one in the room who sees what you see, who's willing to bet years of your life on it. You get used to explaining yourself, defending the idea, being the "crazy" one.
And then you spend 10 days with people wired the same way, and suddenly you don't have to explain anything. You just build, challenge each other, and push further.
Those people are rare. If you find them, hold on to them.
Grateful for this one. Back to work, recharged.
Referral programs are great at acquiring users, and almost every startup experiments with them.
For a while, everything looks exactly the way you'd hoped. You've given people a reason to invite their friends and rewarded both sides.
Then you watch your user base grow: signups increase, referral numbers soar.
But what you don't know is that they're terrible at proving you've built something people actually want.
The real test begins when the rewards stop and your users leave with the incentives.
Then you'll realize the bonus wasn't fueling growth. It was the growth.
Real retention is what happens after the incentive is gone, and it makes you ponder: "Does the person come back because the product solved something, or was the money the only reason they were ever there?"
Every founder has "that" feature. The one you swore would change the game.
Countless late nights. Endless redesigns. "This is the one," you tell yourself.
Then you launch.
Users take one look at it…
...and completely ignore it.
Instead, they become obsessed with the tiny feature you built because "eh, it'll do."
The feature nobody asked for gets touched daily, and the one you were proudest of sits untouched. Pain.
It's easy to mistake "what I want to build" for "what people need." The metrics don't know how many hours went into something. They just show you what people actually use.
People don't care how many all-nighters you pulled or how much coffee that feature cost you. They care about one thing: Does it solve my problem?
The most humbling analytics dashboard is a usage chart that stays flat when you expected it to move.
That flat line is more honest than any assumption you started with. It just quietly says: "Cool feature, but nobody needed it."
Build less for your ego, more for your users.
No press releases. No polished updates.
Just our co-founder @fabiorigam building Greencart's neobank in public — what's working, what's not, and the lessons along the way.

Every card is the same plastic. So the game became: whoever burns the most on cashback "wins".
Except 76% of neobanks are unprofitable. The highest cashback doesn't win — it just runs out of money last.
Cashback isn't a moat. It's a countdown.
You had questions, so here are the answers 👇
The 4 lounge visits: they're yours to use across the year. Go 4 times solo, split them with your partner, or assign them to whoever you want. Fully flexible.
The global eSIM: right now it's 10GB, valid 30 days. But a lot of you have asked for smaller allotments — so we're considering splitting it into several shorter eSIMs, so you get more out of it across multiple trips. Tell us what you'd prefer.
Think $350 is a lot? Compare us to the competition. We think you'll change your mind.
Keep the questions coming.
Introducing Greencart Max
We built the membership we always wanted as travelers.
Twice a year, flying gets stressful right when it should feel effortless. So we fixed the two things that matter most.
Four airport lounge visits a year, anywhere in the world. A quiet seat, real food, fast wifi, a proper drink before you board. And they're not locked to you — use them yourself, or gift a visit to a friend, your partner, your parents. However you travel, the lounge is yours.
One global eSIM. The moment you land, you're online. Maps, messages, your ride — all working before you leave the gate. No roaming fees, no hunting for a local SIM, no airport panic.
That's it. No tiers, no points to chase, no fine print. $350 a year, and travel finally feels the way it should.
