Founders selling to hospitals: the owner's yes feels like the finish line. It's really the starting line. Here's what I've learnt about what comes after 🧵
@rdominguezibar Same quarter, two numbers: AI work up 29%, full-year outlook cut. The old work is shrinking faster than the new work is growing. That gap is the story for Indian IT this year.
Infosys this week: AI revenue up 29% in a quarter. Full-year growth outlook cut to 1-2%. Both are true at once. That's what a platform shift looks like from the inside. The old work shrinks before the new work is big enough to replace it.
@SakshiSugandhi I went to 500+ hospitals one by one on foot and pitched and pitched and pitched and pitched and got the first 10. Each of them then gave me 10 more and so on in 1 year I had 98
Did they really just convince investors to the fact that they’ll be incentivising on the sun?
And the fact that I would’ve LOVED the idea it I was pitched this!!!
Something is so wrong but I can’t point out what!
🚨: A startup lets you 'order sunlight' from space to your exact location in 30 seconds
The company plans to charge around $5,000 for an hour of sunlight.
I tried experimenting with this kind of a bottom nav cause I felt like how often would I need to search for something on X.
Now I want to find a specific post from @Entrepreneur to quote and I have no way to get to it without spending tokens.
@Shraddhaship It’s not about the app as much as it’s about network and distribution at this point.
And it’s true that someone with more money can always win over you.
Eventually I feel we’re going to have extremely personalised software solutions so should be preparing for that
@PTI_News Enforcement will come down to traceability: knowing which device went into which patient. Where that's still a sticker on a paper form, an inspection can't prove much either way.
Quick one before Oct 31, so nobody's parents panic when an app stops opening. ABDM says the ABHA app shuts down Oct 31. Nothing to recreate. Get Aarogya Setu 2.0 (yes, the Covid app, rebuilt for health records) and log in with your ABHA number, Aadhaar or mobile. Run an OPD? Put the Scan & Share QR at registration now.
Sequoia just made a bold claim:
They think the next $1T company will NOT be a software company.
Their take?
Services will be the new software.
Because SaaS companies have spent 25 years fighting over a smaller budget in comparison.
For every $1 companies spend on software → they spend about $6 on services.
For reference:
• A company might pay $10K a year for QuickBooks.
• And $120K for the accountant who closes the books.
AI has completely changed that.
Now, a company can sell the finished WORK instead of the tool.
Here's how the 3 models compare:
TRADITIONAL SAAS
• The customer buys access to software, and their own team runs it.
• Growth is capped by product + distribution.
TRADITIONAL SERVICES
• The customer buys people's time + expertise
• Growth is capped by hiring.
SERVICE-AS-A-SOFTWARE
• The customer buys a completed piece of work.
• Software handles most of the delivery, with the provider's team on decisions + exceptions.
• Growth is capped by how much of the work software can do reliably.
Something to keep an eye on.
