A sense of detachment, sense of humor, 50% deep cynicism 50% intense curiosity is probably the best frame of mind to figure out what’s going on in the world.
Whereas once you used to get 24 hours per candle now you only get 18. Time is dragging on beyond the lifetime of the candle. Your analogy illustrates that time is slowing down. If the same candle lasted 36 hours time would be speeding up. In that case, whereas you used to be able to fit 24 hours into a candle now you can fit 36.
I think a lot of alcoholics and drug addicts just to have a much stronger constitution than average. It’s a type of selection. A normal person would not be able to tolerate years and years of heavy addiction. So the ones you see caught up in years and years of serious addiction are the ones able to physically tolerate it. You aren’t seeing the ones who died, or got sober. Also, it is true that unemployed people have higher testosterone. Being a homeless drug addict, in and of itself is not a fitness regimen.
@Devon_Eriksen_@ArbitrageAndy1 Boomers didn’t fight in World War II. You’re thinking of the greatest generation. Or Else maybe you’re thinking of Vietnam. People who fought World War II are mostly dead or they’re 100 years old. Boomers are in their 70’s
In the end, there is no limit to the potential work for humans.
A single acre of market garden easily employs 2 people in full time hand cultivation.
You don't need many sprays, you don't need to use energy or produce polluting machines, food quality/ethics are ideal.
@giveashitnature@CaraCosmos There’s no such thing as an “invasive species”. Species do not have a “natural” distribution, where they are located is stochastic and variable over time
@giveashitnature@LyndonRosser@CaraCosmos Competition is part of evolution. you’re aware of that, right? It’s totally arbitrary what things are “invasive” and what things are not. It’s based on a type of nostalgia. But the idea that in the past ecosystems were perfectly balanced is actually not true.
This guy in the weird mask just looks like a complete ass hat. Does he think he looks clever? He thinks he’s so edgy. He has to hide his face when he’s saying run of the mill 2015 8Chan stuff?
I can’t really relate to people that don’t feel sad for people doing disturbing things. I don’t know what type of person I would have to become to laugh at people being hurt and using it as an opportunity to ridicule.
If you are single and don’t have kids you can literally start walking across the country. Don’t even stick out your thumb. Just pick a destination a thousand miles away and start walking towards it. You will be offered rides, food, shelter and jobs.
You will have to turn many things down. People will get excited about your adventure and sometimes just give you money. Like $300. it’s a kind of thing where it sounds ridiculous until you try it.
