AI didn’t introduce machines into your life. It introduced machines with a voice that can act on your life.

We already trust software with our money, passwords, payment information, identity, and access to opportunity.

We create accounts.
Accept terms we barely read.
Upload cards.
Connect bank accounts.
Enter systems we’ve never verified through another human being.

Why?

Because everyone else is using it.
Because it seems to work.
Because we want what’s on the other side.

Nobody calls Uber to verify the company before requesting a ride.

Nobody calls Amazon before entering their payment information.

We just enter the system.

The difference now is that we don’t always have to enter first.

We used to summon software.

Now software can summon us.

It can find you.
Prompt you.
Talk to you.
Remember you.
Suggest the next move.

And once you authorize it, the gap between intention and execution starts collapsing.

Maybe that’s what actually makes AI uncomfortable.

We were never scared of the machine doing the work.

We were comfortable because we were the ones pressing the button.
