Students @WindsorLaw who are dedicated to breaking down stigma around disability & marginalization. Trying to bring a little wellness to all (often via humour).
It sad & true: #RacismLivesHereToo. It hurts racialized students, who experience layers of fear, dismissal, or gaslighting in their everyday interactions. It is unjust.
Interrogate your own actions -- the "jokes", eye rolls, dismissals & othering. Are you helping racism thrive? https://t.co/5hqUFCvIHJ
Take a minute to read Ahmed Labib's article about racism at Osgoode. Incidentally, I had a conversation with my friend last night about how racism is alive and well in the Windsor Law community. Ask about the A2J course in the school #RacismLivesHereToo

Just because it seems like someone doesn’t have a mental illness, doesn’t mean it’s true.
Mental illness does not have a look. Mental illness can affect anyone and isn’t always visible.
I spent two years w/ @LSSOnt advocating for law schools to implement TRC recommendation #28 and I'm proud to learn that my alma mater is the first law school in Ontario to take the step towards reconciliation. #legaled
"Only" took 20-odd years to right that ship. 😂
In the "meantime", you got a JD, MA, PhD, teaching gig, happily & luckily married to the wonderful @annekersmit, three great kids, joined faculty @WindsorLaw, & are now @DeanCWaters of same! Seems you made lemonade of those 🍋🍋🍋.
I was rejected by @UTLaw, @UWindsor, @uocommonlaw. My first articling job was for no pay. I then found a modest paying gig. My first post call employer fired me and my five new call colleagues after 2 months and sued us. Now I get to speak at those schools. #ShareYourRejection
I didn’t get into either of the streams I wanted in the Theatre program. I was devastated but that is what started my path to law school. #shareyourejections
As a 2L student entering the infamous OCI process that will no doubt bring some rejection, this #ShareYourRejection tag is giving me hope, drive and inner peace 💞 #lawstudent
You spoke & we listened. We are adjusting the timing of this amazing program. Watch for details in the coming weeks. If you’re a law student or new lawyer, you won’t want to miss! @WindsorLaw @KadeyBJSchultz @FR0STLAW

Lastly, having passions you advocate for does not mean that you are less qualified or capable of following the career path you feel is right for you. It takes time & work to make great things, but make them you can! ✨
Even people who are clearly out of line and seem set in hurtful or cruel ways can change.
But report them & then do as @malinivjkumar did & kick ass! Their wrongheadedness is all about them & says nothing about you or your #badass self. 🙌🏼
Some evidence that:
(a) success often doesn't come in a direct line; &
(b) vouching matters; &
(c) there are people willing to take chances on people others say no to.
If you feel success is elusive, you're #notalone. Good thing: change is a constant, so it must be coming ☺️
In celebration of #NationalRelaxationDay, we created this poster to inspire you to take time to recharge. It’s our gift to you, print and put it in the perfect place to remind you to take a break today and every day.

Evidence that the people who do #articling interviews are:
a) réal people too
b) have a sense of humour
c) appreciate our efforts & hopes when we go for these interviews.
Also proof there's happiness (& more hard work) beyond the chaos of articling/summer apps & #legaled.
#DatingDisabled tip no. 1: don’t be ableist trash like this asshat.
P.S. @opheliajcbrown , so sorry this dipshit even thought he might breathe the same air as you. You’re worth so much more.
Free transit goes a long way to promoting a sense of independence & fostering exploration of one's (usually new) home! That leads to personal growth & empowerment, which are pillars of #wellness
Upon registering as a resident of Mannheim and applying for a Tax ID, the city welcomed me with a Semester Ticket: unlimited rides on transit anywhere in this region of Ba-Wü, valid till Jan. That's nearly €1000 in transit! The Germans take care of their students. #exchAngela
Being recognized for hard work in an institutional way (ie scholarships & grants) -- especially when it helps pay the tuition bills -- is a great way to promote #wellness in students!
All right, Germany, you can stop giving me scholarships now. You've already covered all my rent for the next few months... oh, well, if you insist! 😇 Thank you kindly, #BaWu Govt! #exchAngela
