In 2022, I convened a coalition comprised of our major local hospital system leaders, health care providers, and philanthropic partners who are committed to improving maternal and infant health in our city.
Fort Worth took an important step last week, launching one solution to address the maternal and infant health crisis our city is facing.
The new initiative — called TeamBirth — is intended to improve communication and prioritize shared decision making to keep the mother and her support system completely informed from the time she enters the hospital to deliver her child until they are discharged after birth.
The initiative is a partnership between @UWTarrant and seven hospitals within @JPS_Health, @texashealth, and @bswhealth_DFW.
I’m eternally grateful to the hospitals, doctors, nurses, doulas, administrators, and critical partners who came together to prioritize this issue.
