Data of the Day: In Texas, the cost of basics for a family of four was $74,652 in 2023 – but many essential workers earned far less.
A personal care aide and a stock worker/order filler – two of the state’s most common jobs – both working full-time, brought in a combined $58,100. That’s $16,552 short of what’s needed just to get by.
Let’s work together to make sure that paychecks add up for ALICE and for all families.

Together, we can change the narrative and ensure that *all* households have better choices than this. Dig into our newest Report, The #StateOfALICE in Texas: https://t.co/fUoVXsxdkb
Data of the Day: In 2023, 42% of Texas households struggled to make ends meet—13% lived in poverty and 29% were ALICE, earning above the poverty line but below the cost of living. That means 21 out of every 50 households faced tough choices, food or medicine, rent or childcare.
