Following the arrest of Trainee IPS officer Uday Krishna Reddy in a sexual harassment case, police transferred him to Chanchalguda Jail after the court ordered judicial remand. In light of these developments, the Hyderabad Police issued an official statement.

Background:

The accused, Trainee IPS Uday Krishna Reddy, previously worked as a police constable. After passing the UPSC Civil Services Examination, he was selected as an IPS officer of the 2025 batch. Since December 2025, he had been undergoing training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVP NPA) in Shivrampally.

Initial Contact:

Around mid-2025, the accused met the victim through Instagram when she responded to a post he made about his journey to success. The victim mentioned that she was selected for the 2024 batch of IPS and was on Extra Ordinary Leave (EOL), due to which she would join training alongside the 2025 batch.

Relationship & Conflict:

Their initial acquaintance turned into friendship and eventually a romantic relationship, which grew stronger during their training period at the NPA. Over time, differences arose between the two.

Harassment & Intimidation:

The accused repeatedly threatened to commit suicide and broke the victim's laptop by throwing it. After she blocked him, he created fake social media accounts, threatened to leak their private chats, and contacted her family members and peers without her consent.

Continued Harassment:

As the harassment escalated, the victim distanced herself from him and later married another person. However, Uday Krishna Reddy continued to harass her.

Investigation & Arrest:

Preliminary evidence gathered during the investigation established Uday Krishna Reddy's involvement in the offense. In accordance with legal procedures, he was arrested and produced before the Upparpally Court, which remanded him to judicial custody for 14 days (until August 11).

Police stated that a thorough, deeper investigation covering all aspects of the case is currently underway under the leadership of Women Safety Wing DCP Lavanya, and strict action will be taken as per law.

Born into a poor family in Rewari, #Haryana , Sharmila contracted polio at the age of two. Her mother was visually impaired, and her father supported the family through farming. When she was just 19, her parents forcibly got her married. However, her husband frequently beat her. Even after the birth of two daughters, his behavior did not change. One night, he acted like a beast and severely beat her from 11:00 PM to 3:00 AM. Deciding that she could not live with such a sadistic husband, Sharmila left that very day, taking her two daughters with her back to her parents' home.

**Focus on Sports at Age 34**

Wanting to do something to support her two daughters, she turned her focus toward para-athletics at the age of 34. Drawing inspiration from people like herself, she chose the shot put event.

Seeing their daughter’s determination to achieve something in life, her parents stood by her side. To cover her training expenses, they even sold their home to arrange the money.

Sharmila upheld her parents' hard work and the trust her children placed in her. Heading to Glasgow at the age of 40 with the sole target of a gold medal, she threw the shot put to a distance of 9.81 meters as planned, winning the gold medal and bringing immense joy to her country, her parents, and her family.💥♥️

The video is said to be from the Bhalamudi police station area in Madhya Pradesh, where the husband, Bhupen Yadav, follows his wife and then catches her in an alley and assaults her.
