@chesscoachandra First of all it needs to be checked whether Be7 immediately wins. After Be7 White has Ra7 counter pinning the bishop but then black strikes with Ra8! with another counter pin and white will have to resign.

@JonathanLevitt7 Ne4 is a strong idea that appears in some variations but after the immediate 1.Ne4 black has 1…Ng6 and the fight goes on. With 1.Bf4! first, then black is completely paralysed. If e.g., 1…Ng6 then 2.Qh6!Bf8 3. Qxg6+ fxg6 4. Bxc7 and white will end up with the exchange.

@NoelStuder Excellent thread! How about the "size" of the opening? I have played Sicilian Taimanov for 2 years but I still don't know the plan in many lines as there are so many systems for white to choose from. Could it be beneficial to switch to something "smaller" in this case?
