In 2020 when my team at @libraryaidafric started the @YALLFellowship our major goal was to build and nurture the next generation of library leaders who would shape the future of libraries in Africa.
Over the past 4 cohorts, we have trained 100 young library leaders from 19 African countries, implementing over 50 capstone projects that fosters digital inclusion, community engagement, agriculture, digital literacy development among many others.
One of our fellows Martin V.S. Hipangwa @v_hipangwa has recently been appointed as the Deputy President of the National Information Workers Association of Namibia (NIWAN). This marks a major milestone, with excitement to see YALLF Alumni in Library Leadership!
This further attests to our unwavering efforts in building the capacity of emerging library leaders in Africa, to lead the future of libraries forward.
