A recent @ARTEfr documentary portrays Azerbaijani civilians forcibly leaving Karabakh as Armenian refugees. This isn’t journalism; it’s a shameful distortion.
And people like Richard Giragosian, well-regarded in the West and quite knowledgeable, blatantly lie on camera to millions of clueless viewers watching the film.
I regret that @POLITICOEurope instead of apologizing to Azerbaijan and retracting its fake news article, continues to spread disinformation to mislead the European and global public.
Meanwhile, in the article of Politico there is a reference to Azerbaijani media that official data showing that “Azerbaijan imported 141.6 million cubic meters of gas from Russia this year”
The fact you referred to is a swap operation, not an import. Such seasonal exchanges occur between neighboring states and this is normal. I regret that the article fails to differentiate between swap and import.
“The Southern Gas Corridor, which supplies EU markets, is only connected to Azerbaijani gas fields, not to the broader Azerbaijani natural gas system,” said Tim McPhie, the European Commission’s spokesperson on energy affairs.
The EU official’s statement is entirely accurate, and we are fully aligned with that.
Therefore, Azerbaijan did not import any gas from Russia in 2024. Period!
Politico is unsuccessfully searching for a black cat in a dark room while knowing that the cat is not there. There is a fitting Azerbaijani proverb: “A liar has to be chased to the end.” @politico

We are disturbed by the detention of the prominent climate activist @GretaThunberg during peaceful demonstration in The Hague.
As a @COP29_AZ presidency we call on the Dutch authorities to respect the freedom of expression of climate protestors, and release those detained.
UN map of #Azerbaijan, dated March 1, 2024, with proper geographic names, especially those of Garabagh & East Zangezur. Avoid using outdated names.
This year Novruz celebration in Azerbaijan is different from the ones we used to have. Novruz is celebrated with Novruz bonfires in the entire sovereign territories of Azerbaijan free from military occupation and gray zones. As it has been said Game Over!
While offering Novruz best wishes, we no longer say next year in Shusha or Khankandi. We are in Shusha, Khankandi, and other liberated lands with the spirit of Novruz.
Updated United Nations @UN map No:3761 dated 2024 with proper geographical names is the best illustration of new realities!

Azerbaijan, the host of #COP29, has signed up to the Global Methane Pledge, an important voluntary commitment by nation states to reduce their emissions of methane, a powerful greenhouse gas.
Landmine victims of Azerbaijan continue to grow. During 30 year long occupation, Armenia infested the lands of Azerbaijan with millions of landmines. Surveys of landmine incidents demonstrate that most of the explosions occur behind the former line of confrontation, especially in the areas which had no military significance. It is testimony to the fact of deliberate and indiscriminate usage of landmines with the logic "weapons of mass destruction" to terrorize and kill civilians and deprive them from the right of return. #landmines
Azerbaijan consistently supports global climate action and implements various energy efficiency measures. Clean environment and green growth are among our national priorities. Renewable energy is gaining momentum in Azerbaijan.
Hosting the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in 2024, stems from our firm determination to contribute to global efforts to cope with climate change. I express my sincere gratitude to all countries for their valuable support to Azerbaijan’s bid. We will spare no effort to make the #COP29 a success story.
I thank Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates, for the excellent organization of the @COP28_UAE and looking forward to working together to advance climate action.
A military parade dedicated to the third anniversary of the Victory in the Patriotic War has been held in the city of Khankendi.
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and their son Heydar Aliyev attended the parade.
Azerbaijan is on track to generate 30% of its energy from renewable sources by 2030 with offshore & onshore (incl. in liberated territories) projects
