We Must Pace the Frontier: I’ve written a new essay on why the AI industry should slow down, with a three-part plan for doing so.
Anthropic is unilaterally committing to the first of these steps. We’ll provide third-party evaluators with permanent, employee-level access to our systems, so that they can verify adherence to our safety measures, report on incidents, and assess models’ alignment during training.

I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.
Worried about how the hackers assets got freezed on @SuiNetwork from today’s hack?
This post explains it from a non technical perspective so do well to RT for frens.
Let’s break it down 🧵
Some folks are asking: “If assets can be locked, is Sui really decentralized?”
Here’s how it actually works 👇
1. In rare, large-scale exploits like today’s @CetusProtocol incident, Sui validators can come together and reach consensus to deny transactions from specific malicious wallets.
This prevents the attacker from moving stolen funds.
2. ⚠️ This isn’t automatic and isn’t centralized control.
Two key things make it decentralized:
•It only happens in extreme cases (like major hacks)
•It requires broad validator consensus to take effect
3. Think of it as an emergency brake — only pulled when a lot of independent actors agree it’s necessary (as the case was today).
This protects users and LPs, while still preserving decentralization.
4. 🔧 For developers who want to dive deeper, here’s the relevant code in Sui’s repo:

5. In summary:
✅ Sui is decentralized
✅ The network is secure
✅ Asset recovery tools exist — used with caution and consensus.
📜 Dear Sui community, thank you for your patience while our team works on the incident investigation and resolution.
Since taking the actions indicated in our previous announcement, we have also done the following:
1. We engaged the broader ecosystem, Sui team, and related third parties for incident analysis and fund tracing, and flagged the hacker's accounts.
2. We identified the root cause of the exploit and fixed the related package, and informed ecosystem builders as fast as we could with help from ecosystem members to prevent other teams being affected.
3. We engaged professional anti-cybercrime organizations to support our fund tracing and our negotiation regarding safe return of the funds.
4. We are speaking with law enforcement and are in the process of arranging further assistance.
We have identified the Ethereum wallet address controlled by the hacker responsible for earlier today's exploit, and reached out to negotiate the return of customer funds. We have offered a time-sensitive whitehat settlement in exchange for the outstanding balance. Should the hacker accept our terms, we would also refrain from pursuing further legal action.

To our community, thank you for your continued support. Our priority continues to be the recovery of impacted funds, and we hope for a successful resolution. A full incident report will be shared later once complete. Thanks again for your patience.
Cetus Protocol
🚨ANNOUNCEMENT
As of earlier today, we have confirmed that an attacker has stolen approximately $223M from Cetus Protocol. We have took immediate action to lock our contract preventing further theft of funds.
$162M of the compromised funds have been successfully paused. We are working with the Sui Foundation and other ecosystem members right now on next-step solutions, with the goal of recovering the remaining stolen funds.
The majority of impacted funds are paused and we are actively pursuing paths to recover the remainder. We have no higher priority and will provide further updates as they become available through this channel. A full incident report will be disclosed later. We are sincerely grateful for your patience. 🙏
BREAKING ⚠️
India to formally modify its rules of engagement on Pakistan—any future act of terror will from now on be formally considered an Act of War against India and the response will be so aligned.

India has launched #OperationSindoor, a precise and restrained response to the barbaric #PahalgamTerrorAttack that claimed 26 lives, including one Nepali citizen. Focused strikes were carried out on nine #terrorist infrastructure sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, targeting the roots of cross-border terror planning. Importantly, no Pakistani military facilities were hit, reflecting India’s calibrated and non-escalatory approach. This operation underscores India’s resolve to hold perpetrators accountable while avoiding unnecessary provocation. A detailed briefing on the operation will follow later today.

I am shocked by the horrific terror attack on innocent civilians in Jammu and Kashmir overnight.
There is no justification for this violence and Australia condemns it.
Our hearts go out to the injured, to those mourning loved ones and to everyone in Australia touched by this terrible news.
I strongly condemn the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that the injured recover at the earliest. All possible assistance is being provided to those affected.
Those behind this heinous act will be brought to justice...they will not be spared! Their evil agenda will never succeed. Our resolve to fight terrorism is unshakable and it will get even stronger.
@ChanakyaaTv Watching this interview made me so angry. He gave the same answer for every question and having seen someone as amazing as Annamalai, makes me question the path bjp has taken in order to win the next election. Would've been much better to lose in 2026 alone and win in 2031/36.
