War destroys childhood. Education, health care, play, family, community—all gone in an instant. Children pay the ultimate price for wars & conflicts they had no hand in creating. Schools are #NotATarget. Children are #NotATarget. This has to stop.

The world is ignoring its children—starvation, separation, weakened protections. Yet children are speaking up, leading. It’s on us to meet them with action. Every child has rights, no matter where they’re born or displaced. Watch the video to learn more⬇️
Nearly 49M children have been forcibly displaced worldwide, with children comprising 41 percent of all refugees by the end of 2024. Fleeing violence, persecution, and natural disasters, these children face trauma, separation from their families, and difficult living conditions.
For them, home isn’t a place—it’s a memory.
Protecting these children is not only a moral responsibility but also a crucial step towards securing their future.
Every child, regardless of where they are born or displaced, deserves the dignity of a safe childhood and the opportunity for a better future.

USCRI is calling for urgent action as man-made starvation grips refugee camps in #Kenya.
The slashing of humanitarian aid by the United States has left hundreds of thousands of refugees in #Kakuma, #Kalobeyei, and #Dadaab without food. Protests yesterday in Kakuma over devastating cuts to food rations turned violent, leaving refugees injured, unconfirmed fatalities, & a fire at a WFP facility.
Desperate cries for food and survival must not be met with silence or with force. The U.S. and the global community must reverse these deadly cuts.

TPS exists so people who cannot return to their home country because of war, natural disasters, or other extenuating circumstances can remain safe and contribute to America. Sending people back to violence, dictatorship, and chaos is un-American. We must protect these families.
KIND condemns the Senate’s budget bill for gutting protections for unaccompanied children.
It fast-tracks deportations, removes safeguards, and puts kids at greater risk of trafficking and abuse.
This is not policy—it’s cruelty.

Over 700K refugees in #Kenya’s #Kakuma & #Dadaab camps and #Kalobeyei Settlement are affected by the devastating cuts in humanitarian aid by the U.S. and other donor governments, trying to survive on just 28% of their full food rations.
“These are not abstract numbers,” says @ENegash_USCRI. “Behind every statistic is a child going hungry, a mother skipping meals so her baby can eat, a teenager forced to abandon school to search for food or work.”
This is a man-made crisis—and it’s preventable. USCRI urges the international community to act now.

Children suffered record levels of violence in conflict zones in 2024, UN report shows. @ingerashing@save_children said sexual violence “must be treated with the same gravity as guns and bombs”.

What does it mean to be a refugee before you’ve even grown up? On #WorldRefugeeDay, I’m highlighting refugee children—powerful & full of ideas for change. True solidarity with refugee children goes beyond empathy—it requires meaningful action & support. https://t.co/44C9ZpymYE
Sexual violence in conflict is not an inevitable byproduct of war — it is a deliberate tactic used to destroy bodies, fracture families & dismantle entire communities.
On this International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict, we stand in unwavering solidarity with survivors across East Africa & reaffirm our commitment to ending this egregious crime & violation of human rights.

Let’s build a kinder world, one action at a time. #WorldRefugeeDay
At the panel “Collaboration: An Overlooked Strategy in Refugee Advocacy”, USCRI Policy Analyst Victoria Walker @v_walker93 shared insights on the current state of collaboration between child rights and refugee rights advocacy groups, opening an important dialogue on the need for stronger partnership between the two.

This World #MHDay & every day, we stand in solidarity with girls & women in conflict-affected communities who face the compounded challenge of managing their periods without safety, privacy, or essential supplies. Menstruation doesn’t pause for war, yet support for menstrual health far too often does. It’s time to change this devastating reality & ensure menstrual health is treated as a core part of every humanitarian response, not an optional add-on.
#PeriodFriendlyWorld
On #WorldMenstrualHygieneDay, it’s important to remember—periods don’t stop in crisis.
In #Kenya’s refugee camps, 142K+ school-aged girls face risks to their health, education, and dignity simply because they lack menstrual hygiene products.
This isn’t just about access to pads. It’s also about breaking harmful taboos and creating safe spaces where girls can talk about their periods without shame or fear.
As Sudi Omar, CEO of Girl Power Action Initiative, says:
“It’s time for everyone to step up and make menstrual health a basic necessity for girls in these communities, so they can live without the burden of fear, shame, and discomfort.”
Help her stay healthy. Stay in school. Keep dreaming. Period.

Three children were reportedly killed and at least 13 were injured in horrific strikes in Ukraine.
Statement by @MunirMammadzade: https://t.co/eCGhDpK8bJ
#Kenya has hosted refugees for 30+ years—today, over 843K live in camps like #Dadaab & #Kakuma or reside in urban areas.
In March, the government launched the Shirika Plan, which aims to transform refugee support by shifting from aid to long-term development.
But concerns have been raised about the lack of meaningful consultation, the unclear rollout, and fears of increased pressure on strained local services.
Our latest policy brief breaks it down—and offers recommendations.
