@BajisW131 I'm the other way around! I always get stuck when there's too much freedom for a paper 😖 I probably need more experience writing

[Valery Freeland @vaanfree]

[Valery Freeland @vaanfree]

@bevethom7198 Best present ever! 😂

[Valery Freeland @vaanfree]

@bevethom7198 Same! Feels a lot shorter than 8 weeks. I can't wait to finally go home tho!

[Valery Freeland @vaanfree]

@swimmin_steve Me too! I never know what to tell people when they ask what year I'm in during summer break. That awkward in between stage...

[Valery Freeland @vaanfree]

@tewattimena How was it? I know there's talks going on around campus all the time but I always find out about them after they're over :'(

[Valery Freeland @vaanfree]

@jeff_mccord_iu Not so into the mask at 2:47. It's so creepy!!

[Valery Freeland @vaanfree]

@seth_donoho @kol_bitar He was a 10th-century Arab trader that traveled around a lot according to Wikipedia

[Valery Freeland @vaanfree]

@seth_donoho @kol_bitar Apparently this bathing ritual was based off of Ahmad ibn Fadlan's text on the people of Rus (Vikings).

@seth_donoho Floki was smart... I wouldn't mind as long as I got to wash my face first like him!

[Valery Freeland @vaanfree]

@_dtsering @Ny_Ka_Fo @jeff_mccord_iu I'm considering starting over at this point but I don't want to throw away all my work!!

@_dtsering I was thinking the same thing! My image is that they were mostly badasses like Lagertha :P

[Valery Freeland @vaanfree]

@kol_bitar Sorry I can't meet during that time. 😥

[Valery Freeland @vaanfree]

@kol_bitar Is there still a time slot open for meeting tomorrow or Thursday?

[Valery Freeland @vaanfree]

Discussion Starter: We talked about the portrayal of gender etc through the use of Vikings. What else would you have wanted to explore?

[Valery Freeland @vaanfree]

@kol_bitar I'm definitely going back to Wells to borrow this book!

[Valery Freeland @vaanfree]

@kol_bitar @RyanUtterback24 I had no idea 😮 I imagined it would be run primarily by men
