I don’t usually weigh in on politics, but I feel compelled to share this: I’m voting for @CPC_HQ in the upcoming federal election using a special ballot. I recently moved out of Canada, but my years there gave me a clear perspective on where we stand. I’m not here to criticize the Liberals - they’ve had some worthwhile ideas, and I respect their efforts. However, based on what I’ve observed, several of their policies didn’t deliver, and I believe it’s time for a change.

The consumer carbon tax was intended to address climate change while keeping costs manageable but it ended up driving up everyday expenses - without the noticeable environmental gains we were promised. The housing strategy aimed to make homes more accessible and affordable, yet many young Canadians still can’t afford to buy, or even rent. Healthcare has been a breaking point. Hospitals are swamped, staff stretched beyond capacity, and wait times for critical care have ballooned to the point where folks with real health issues have been left in limbo for several months, for procedures that shouldn’t wait.

I’m supporting the Conservatives because their priorities - reducing unnecessary spending, lowering taxes, increasing housing supply, supporting small businesses, and strengthening border policies - align with what I’ve seen work in practice. I’m hoping @PierrePoilievre steps up as the next Prime Minister; his straight-talking push for common-sense fixes feels like what we need. I’m not naive; not every promise they make will fully materialize-politics is rarely that simple. Still, it’s a better direction than the Liberal approach, which started with promise but lost momentum, leaving challenges unresolved.

In my view, it’ll be nice to see the NDP lose official party status, and I don’t say that lightly. Their steep drop in the polls is a win for everyone - Liberals, Conservatives, even them in the long run. Those grand, pie-in-the-sky ideas they kept tossing out felt like they were from another planet sometimes - nice to dream about, but not much help when you’re trying to figure out how to pay the mortgage or see a doctor. Them fading means the conversation gets real again, cuts the fluff, and forces us all to zero in on what can get done in reality. Every party has got to step up with plans that stick, not just sound good.

I’m casting my vote because Canada has too much potential to settle for the status quo. We deserve progress, and I’m urging everyone to vote and push for it - I believe the Conservatives can lead that effort. With this vote, I hope I can 'Bring it Home' - away from home; let’s all get out, and let the change lead us forward!!
