BREAKING NEWS
The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the 2024 #NobelPrize in Physics to John J. Hopfield and Geoffrey E. Hinton “for foundational discoveries and inventions that enable machine learning with artificial neural networks.”
Excited to announce I've joined the University of Rochester as a postdoctoral associate in Prof. Susana Marcos's group at the Center for Vision Science! Thrilled to be part of this groundbreaking research environment at the birthplace of optics programs.@MarcoslabUr@UofR#vision
Excited to share that my PhD research has been published in Biomedical Optics Express!📄
Contrast sensitivity is resilient to induced fast periodic defocus oscillations

👁️The eye interprets periodic defocus up to 3 diopters, even with fast oscillations. ⏱️Integration time for defocus is around 10ms. 🔍Small amplitude oscillations don't impact the visual system's ability to interpret stimuli. Oscillations >3 diopters degrade contrast sensitivity.
Happy International Day of Light!
Today, we celebrate #LightInOurLives2024 and the importance of optics and photonics worldwide in science, culture, art, education and sustainable development.

Last week, l delivered two oral presentations at SPIE Photonics Europe conferences. I shared results with our wavefront sensor developed at @WooptixCorp. An amazing opportunity to connect leading scientists in the field.l was thrilled to see significant interest in our device.
Tomorrow I will talk about Myopia, accommodation dynamics, and extremely high-order wavefront sensing at 2024 Young Researchers Biophotonics Winter Meeting. Many thanks to @m_vineyards and @alba_paniaguad for the invitation and for holding the event.

I think this is great advice for the scientific community. The aim is not solely working, though; it's also to know if you are on the right track.

"Don't work too hard!" says Paul Nurse.
We especially hope that the medicine laureate isn't working too hard today as it is his birthday.
Nurse received the 2001 #NobelPrize in Physiology or Medicine for his work related to discoveries of key regulators of the cell cycle.
