I just love our portfolio founders.
They carry this rare combination of intellectual honesty, authenticity, openness, and vulnerability. All from stemming from a deep place of strength and self-belief.
I met with @vaibsite today, and it reminded me of how hard it really is to make startups work. He shared his journey of landing in SF while figuring out visa challenges and operating on a very tight runway. In this crazy context, he had to convince immigration lawyers to back him for an O1, friends to let him crash on their couches, enterprise customers to buy from a brand-new startup and investors to believe and invest.
Immigrant founder life is hard mode!
What I admire even more is his pay it forward mindset and helping new founders entering the market, guiding and supporting them.
This is the most meaningful part of building @aheadvc : backing founders who are not only gritty builders but also generous humans.
@ExpediaHelp@Expedia you have one of the worst customer service out there. Your customer support agents tell different story about getting flight refunds every time I call them. 4 different calls, 30 minute long and 3 different stories.
Meet expectations to build trust. Exceed them to delight.
I don't remember who said it or where I read it a few years back, but this line has proven itself to be true both in product development and in my personal life again and again.
Engagement thrives on the unpredictable. A captivating story seizes our attention, but the moment we foresee its ending, we're already seeking fresher narratives. It's not just about new stories, but better ones. This is the essence of our ever-evolving attention span
Evaluating a book's success by the number of copies sold is misleading.
A more meaningful metric would be the average number of pages read per copy, offering a true reflection of reader engagement.
There are even better metrics.
