After purchasing the Ola Electric two-wheeler on 20.09.2023, within just four months of use, the vehicle suddenly stopped functioning on 12.01.2024. It was immediately taken to the showroom, and a complaint was registered. Upon inspection, the company informed me that the hub motor had to be replaced, and the vehicle was kept in the showroom for approximately two weeks.
Shockingly, on 06.06.2024, the same issue with the hub motor recurred. Once again, the hub motor had to be replaced, and the vehicle remained in the showroom for another two weeks, incurring a cost of around ₹23,000 (covered under warranty).
Subsequently, on 31.07.2024, the vehicle developed a software issue and remained in the showroom for 2–3 weeks. Again, on 02.08.2024, further complaints arose regarding the brakes and software. On 21.09.2024, the vehicle broke down yet again, and the MCU had to be replaced, keeping it in the showroom for another two weeks. The MCU, costing approximately ₹18,000, was replaced under warranty.
On 29.03.2025, the battery — a critical component costing nearly ₹36,000 — was also replaced under warranty. However, on 21.07.2025, the motor failed once again. When I took the vehicle to the service center, I was shockingly informed that “spare parts are not available.” As a result, the vehicle remained idle in the showroom for one month. On 29.08.2025, the vehicle was delivered back to me after the showroom claimed that all complaints had been resolved.
But, to my utter shock, after driving just 10 km, the same issue occurred again, and the vehicle broke down in the middle of the road, causing me severe mental stress and inconvenience. This incident must be highlighted because after keeping the vehicle for one month in the showroom and later assuring me that the issue was rectified, the same failure occurred within just one hour of delivery. This clearly demonstrates the poor service quality and negligence of the service center.
It is extremely important to emphasize that this is the third time the hub motor has failed and been replaced, yet the problem persists. This clearly reflects the poor quality of components and substandard manufacturing practices. A consumer who has spent his hard-earned money on an electric vehicle does not expect it to spend more time in the showroom than on the road.
Every time the vehicle broke down, it had to be towed at an additional expense and then kept idle in the showroom for 2–3 weeks, further adding to my hardship. During such breakdowns, I was forced to commute by bus for my job, facing daily inconvenience, additional expenses, loss of valuable time, and sheer frustration.
By October 2025, the vehicle will complete two years since purchase. Shockingly, within this short span, it has already spent nearly 4–5 months in the showroom for repairs. Such repeated failures, poor service, and unavailability of spare parts have caused me immense hardship, mental trauma, financial loss, and emotional stress.
While these failures occurred during the warranty period and the replacements were covered, the real fear and injustice lie in the future: once the warranty expires, the same recurring issues will force me to bear enormous expenses for motors, batteries, and other costly components. This amounts to unfair trade practice, as no consumer can be expected to repeatedly suffer breakdowns and later spend lakhs of rupees on parts that clearly have inherent manufacturing defects.
The Ola Electric two-wheeler, instead of being a convenient and eco-friendly solution, has turned into a source of constant distress, repeated breakdowns, and financial burden, defeating the very purpose for which it was purchased.
I also want to highlight that I never intended to join Twitter, but Ola’s repeated negligence and poor service compelled me to raise my voice publicly here. I have even filed an online grievance, but the company’s response was unfair, dismissive, and the issue still remains unresolved.
This has been, without a doubt, the worst experience I have ever had with any vehicle manufacturer. Ola Electric has failed not only in delivering a reliable product but also in providing even the most basic after-sales service that every consumer rightfully deserves.
📌 I am also attaching photos and videos which clearly prove that I was delivered a defective vehicle, further strengthening my case.
