BREAKING: MAGA world melts down as Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde calls Donald Trump out directly to his face during a sermon at the National Cathedral — urging him to find compassion and mercy.
This is the last thing Trump expected today...
"I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country who are scared. There are gay, lesbian, transgender children, Democratic, Republican, independent families — some who fear for their lives," the reverend said as Trump sat in the pews.
She said that millions of Americans "put their trust in you."
"The people who pick our crops and clean our office buildings, who labor in poultry farms and meatpacking plants, who wash the dishes after we eat in restaurants and work the night shifts in hospitals — they may not be citizens or have the proper documentation, but the vast majority of immigrants are not criminals," she added.
Destroying Republicans lies about migrants, she said that those workers "pay taxes" and are "faithful members" of American churches, mosques, synagogues, and mosques.
Appealing to empathy that Trump lacks, she said that the children of those migrants "fear their parents are going to be taken away."
"Find compassion," she added, urging him to help vulnerable people fleeing from war zones and persecution — a tall ask for a man as demonstrably anti-refugee as Trump.
Please retweet and ❤️ if you think that a real Christian president would heed the reverend's words — and consider joining the growing exodus to Tribel, a new pro-democracy social network that is exploding in popularity because Twitter and Facebook are trying to stop its growth — which is only making Tribel grow even faster. After a month of "51st state" trolling from the MAGA crowd, there is something quite delicious about Michael J. Fox wearing his Order of Canada pin to the White House to get the US Presidential Medal of Freedom...
@PR_NHL @Sportsnet Anyone who thinks this is just about Scott Oake and the work he does as an exceptional broadcaster knows not the man who has done so much for the City of Winnipeg advocating for those with drug addictions. Congrats Scott for this recognition - you so deserve it!
@ICdave Such a great loss for the media, fans of Winnipeg sports, and of course the family. I enjoyed listening to his interviews and reading his stories. RIP Mr. Wyman.
@ChuckHellebuyck@NHLJets I was at the game in 327 and was totally exhausted at the end of the night - not sure what he was! He played lights out! So glad to be a 1/2 season ticket and watch him!
Murray Sinclair was a giant in justice and reconciliation, and his work will guide us on our journey. He hoped future generations would know he cared -- and there’s no doubt about that. Winnipeg will always remember him.
@JustAJetsFan I got single tickets for years and mostly in the 100's. Now into my 3rd year with a 1/2 season tickets in the Portage end 2nd row 300's. Tickets are about $80. I never thought I would like it there! Love it and the fans up there!
