I've been getting ads from TorPublishing about one of my favorite books bc apparently there's now a 3rd installment but Tor is doing such a bad job advertising that I didn't even realize this was about a 3rd NEW book i thought this was all for a book that came out 13y ago

They're being really cringy-10-years-ago-tumblr about it. They used somebody's gay fanart for an ad (hope they paid the artist) and posting quotes/pics of pages from the 1st book. Even the desc sounds like the 1st book. They've refused to do one ad with the cover of the new book

But it's also kind of like. Idk I think the way the crossover happens in supernatural is very contrived and the episode doesnt actually lead anywhere, but if we got a VB crossover I feel like it would've worked in both worlds' lore/rules rather than rewriting the scooby doo world

Like there's actually ghosts in venture bros on top of weird super science shit I think it would've been a better crossover than Scooby-Doo - at least conceptually ik the scooby natural episode is very fun and the characters have a breakdown over learning there's actual ghosts -
