A very substantive meeting with President of France @EmmanuelMacron. We appreciate that France is helping as much as possible to find ways to respond to Russian escalation.

During our meeting, Russia launched yet another vile drone strike on Ukrainian energy infrastructure in Lutsk. There are power outages in the city. Unfortunately, this kind of blatant and vile Russian terror has been taking place almost constantly these days. Russia has demonstratively disregarded the American President’s proposal for an energy ceasefire. And now it is taking advantage of problems with Starlink operations to cause maximum destruction to everything that sustains everyday life.

Emmanuel and I discussed various ways to counter this. In particular, new packages to strengthen our combat aviation will be provided this month. We are also accelerating work on European anti-ballistic defense – FREYJA needs to become operational by the end of the year. I am grateful to Emmanuel – all the weaponry production licenses France promised Ukraine have already been obtained. It is important to implement this promptly at the team level. Thank you, France!

3. Contribuzioni eque da parte degli Stati membri.
4. No agli sconti sui contributi nazionali.

Continueremo a lavorare insieme perché queste priorità siano riflesse nell’accordo finale!

We never communicate what we will do next in our operations. Last night, we did not attack any energy facilities on the territory of Russia because President Trump said that there would be an energy ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia. We did not attack, while Russia attacked our gas stations, energy infrastructure, and other facilities.

I think it was Putin’s answer to President Trump. And the message from Russia was very clear – they don't know anything about the energy ceasefire. It's a pity, because they always find reasons not to stop this war. Which is why I think we need more pressure on Russia.

🇷🇴🇧🇬 Today I learned that Romania was the first country whose air force flew over an enemy capital. In the summer of 1913, during the Second Balkan War, Romanian aviators carried out reconnaissance flights and dropped leaflets over Sofia, Bulgaria, thus also making Sofia the first capital to be overflown by enemy aircraft.

Overall, 25 people were killed in this massive Russian strike on Ukraine. One hundred people were injured. It was a combined attack, involving many ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as “shaheds.” This is the kind of “gift” Putin gave himself for his birthday.

Ukrainian warriors shot down 44 missiles – both cruise and ballistic. Not all of those launched by Russia, and ballistic missiles are especially difficult to deal with. We suppressed 117 “shaheds” – most of those launched, but unfortunately, not all of them either.

Additional packages of air defense missiles are needed, as are additional measures to support Ukraine. And there will be appropriate packages. The threat is there every day, and every day, our air defense batteries need to have missiles ready. We strongly count on prompt deliveries from our partners.

❗️I want to thank the Romanian people for everything they have done for Ukrainians since the start of the full-scale war. This support often stayed out of the major media spotlight, but for us it was felt every day.

Romania transferred a full Patriot system to Ukraine, which is already defending Ukrainian cities from missiles and drones, and also joined the joint NATO initiative to supply interceptor missiles for these systems. Millions of tons of Ukrainian grain passed through the port of Constanța when Russian ships blocked the Black Sea.
Romania took in hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians seeking shelter, opened corridors for humanitarian aid and military supplies, and provided support in packages that were barely mentioned officially.

Thank you, Romania. Your solidarity helps us hold the sky and hold on.

Romania strongly condemns the latest missile and drone attacks conducted by the armed forces of the Russian Federation against civilians in the city of Kramatorsk today.

The killing of dozens of innocent civilians, including children, and the senseless destruction caused are barbaric actions, deeply distressing and utterly unjustifiable.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families and all those affected by this horrendous attack.

Romania stands firmly in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and stresses, once more, that civilians and civilian infrastructure must be protected. Collectively we will do more to help Ukraine defend itself against aggression.

Romania also reaffirms its commitment to the principles of international law, and reiterates its support for the independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.

Romania will continue to stand by Ukraine’s side for as long as it takes.

Attacks against civilians and civilian facilities or infrastructures are war crimes. All those responsible will be held accountable. @andrii_sybiha

🇷🇴 🤝 🇵🇰 Turning the economic potential between Romania and Pakistan into concrete business partnerships, investment and trade was the driving ambition behind our support for the Romania–Pakistan Business Forum taking place today in Bucharest. I had the honour of addressing the participants with a clear message: together, we must translate ambition into agreements and opportunities into results.

🎯 Today is not simply about another business forum. It is about turning a strong diplomatic relationship into an economic partnership that delivers real results.

For too long, the economic potential between Romania and Pakistan has been greater than our trade figures suggest. We have excellent political relations, dynamic private sectors, complementary economies and strategic locations. Now it is time for business to catch up with diplomacy.

🤝 This is why the Embassy of Romania in Islamabad, the Pakistan-Romania Business Council and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania, CCIR, have joined forces to bring this delegation to Romania.

I would particularly like to thank Mr. Atif Farooqi, Mr. Sohail Shamim Firpo and all the Pakistani business leaders who have travelled here. You have not come to Romania simply to exchange business cards. You are here to find partners, explore opportunities and, most importantly, do business.

🇷🇴 🇪🇺 Romania has a great deal to offer Pakistani companies. We are a gateway to the European Union and its Single Market, strategically located on the Black Sea, with opportunities in agriculture, IT, energy, manufacturing, education, logistics and many other sectors.

And we are building the connections needed to support this ambition.

🚢 Earlier this year, Karachi Port and the Port of Constanța established a new framework for cooperation. Now we need to give substance to that connection. We want to see more ships, more containers, more trade and more investment moving between the Arabian Sea and the Black Sea.

📍 During this mission, from Bucharest to Ploiești, Constanța and Brașov, you will meet Romanian companies, chambers of commerce, universities and public institutions.

But I would like us to judge the success of this mission differently.

Not by how many meetings we organise.
Not by how many photographs you take.
Not even by how many memoranda you sign.

📈 Let us judge it by the contracts signed, investments launched, joint ventures created, exports increased and partnerships that continue to grow in the years ahead.

As Ambassador, my message to the business communities of both countries is very simple.

Romania is open for Pakistani business. Pakistan offers real opportunities for Romanian companies. The doors are open. Now it is time to walk through them.

🌍 Let us move from potential to partnership, and from partnership to prosperity.

Welcome to Romania. I wish you a successful Pakistan-Romania Business Forum and, above all, a productive visit that leads to real business.

Thank you! 🇷🇴 🇵🇰
