Goodbye Prof.
Today I am saddened by the news of this legend, Prof. Tim Darvill, passing. I've had the privilege to meet and work for him only briefly at the Sisters Long Barrow excavation, one of the coolest, most interesting digs I've ever been on, Thank you Tim.
I had such a fun time at @ArchAncHistLeic @uniofleicester !!! Thank you to the lovely people of @TobacHistory for having me! It was great to see you again 😊
Time to section some teeth now 💃🤩🦷

As it turns out, smoking alters the normal cementum growth pattern, and Valentina was able to distinguish active smokers and people who had smoked in the past.
And due to the growth rate of the cementum, she was also able to use this method to estimate age!
