The "This is Water" speech had me near tears. I really loved all that he said. When he said "Worship your intellect...you will end up feeling stupid" really resonated with me. It helped me reflect on what I value and the consequences of it #ECL220
When I was reading "Shipping Out" I completely forgot it was a nonfictional story. Almost all the way through I thought this was completely fictional. I aspire to have David's way with words, I definitely want to read more from him #ECL220
@NoelleSDSU I think this really fits Friedrich Nietzsche's "God Is Dead" story if you look at this from a more religious standpoint. Even though he's atheist, I think that story, ironically, almost encourages people to still believe & "remain ignorant" in his eyes
A Humument seems really interesting! However, I still struggle to understand what I am supposed to be taking away from it. Perhaps when it says "reveal I" the picture of the boy is our narrator. Maybe this is a story he wants to share? #ECL220
Derek Beaulieu's "untitled (for Natalee and Jermey)" is very abstract and makes me question the line between art and visual poetry. why is that considered "poetry" and not "art" (paintings and drawings)? #ECL220
The ending really had me thinking. The fact that Vladek burned all of Anja's notebooks was insane to me. He wonder's why she didn't leave a suicide note behind & it makes me think that maybe she didn't need to...maybe her notebooks had the answer he needed #ECL220
@NoelleSDSU Me too!!! I realized earlier today that this novel was part 1! I am definitely going to be reading pt.2, gotta know what happens next ๐๐๐
I took a double take when I noticed how on pg.118 of the pdf (pg.125 of the novel) how the 5th panel where Vladek & Anja were walking on a rode was shaped as a Nazi Symbol! Blew my mind! The symbolism here is incredible #ECL220
I really needed the "Norton Sound" reading. It was such a great reminder on how to hear poetry. I was able to look back on poems and gain a whole new perspective on what I read. #ECL220
I just want to say, I absolutely adored "Persimmons". It was such a beautifully written story about Li Young's life and I just love the mix of tone and images. I've also never had this fruit so I loved looking it up and seeing how the inside really does look like a sun!#ECL220
"A Very Old Man With Enormous Wings" really had my head spinning. The old man made me think of Greek mythology's version of sirens. Though primarily viewed asโ, they are said to, apparently, represent hidden knowledge. Sounds like our old man huh? #ECL220

Raise your hand if you looked up "yellow mold on wall" after reading "The Yellow Wall-Paper" ๐โโ๏ธI also found out that toxic molds can cause severe hallucinations ๐check it out y'all #ECL220

The Birthmark totally just reality checked me to stop freaking out about the future and trying to make everything perfect #ECL220 Me looking to see where Aylmer found the audacity
When the mother of the narrator in "Sonny's Blues" told him "You got to hold on to your brother...and don't let him fall no matter what" got me crying. As the eldest, this story had me reflecting on my role and my relationship with my brother๐#ECL220#siblinglove
Did anyone get Abraham and Isaac vibes from "The Cask Of Amontillado"? The way Montresor and Fortunato went down into the catacombs to get the Amontillado just made me think of the way Abraham and Isaac went up the hill to prepare an offering to God. #ECL220
