DEVELOPING: Tensions flare in the Middle East after an explosion inside a building in southern Lebanon, believed to be a Hezbollah position, leaves 2 Israeli soldiers dead and 4 wounded, triggering immediate Israeli retaliatory airstrikes.
It's the worst violence since the U.S.-brokered June ceasefire between the 2 sides. The key question now is whether this proves to be a one-off incident or if it marks the beginning of a broader escalation.
It also comes at a critical moment as diplomatic efforts continue to secure a key agreement on reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
