I grew up a hunter and served as an Army Ranger.
I didn’t take my deer hunting rifle to Afghanistan, nor did I take my assault rifle deer hunting.
Don’t be fooled by the gun lobby. The type of gun matters.
Weapons of war have no place in our communities.
On Thursday, the remains of an Air Force colonel who died while serving in Vietnam were finally brought home — half a century later.
His son, now a pilot, flew the remains back to the US. In a touching show of respect, an entire terminal fell silent during the ceremony.
Friends, we still have a few more seats left for our Fall Cohort. If you’re a transitioning service-member or know of one please check/send this out. This is a great program to set you up for a successful transition out of the #military. https://t.co/4burMGqvko #veterans
Exciting news! I’m looking forward to checking out the courses and recommending them to our next @valor_bridge class in a few weeks! Thanks for all your hard work in putting this together! #Veterans#Leadership
Transitioning is hard, transitioning out of the #military is harder. At @valor_bridge we have classes that help with these issues. One is negotiations, helping #veterans negotiate w/ employers to help eliminate gender pay gaps, and for veterans to be paid their worth.
Whether you've recently transitioned from active duty or you are looking for a more fulfilling role, @valor_bridge works to help adapt your service skills to long-lasting careers. Apply today to get started in your next chapter https://t.co/fQPSDI2JSa #Military#Veterans
Today the Medal of Honor was presented to Army Staff Sgt. David Bellavia, Iraq War’s first living MOH recipient. Read about his heroic actions below. #Veterans#Military
Pointe du Hoc, was the highest point between the American sector landings at Utah Beach to the west and Omaha Beach to the east. On #DDay the @USArmy Ranger Assault Group attacked and captured Pointe du Hoc after scaling cliffs. (Taken inside a German Bunker) #DDay75thAnniversary
This is Steve Melnikoff from Baltimore, Maryland. On June 6, 1944 he was on Omaha Beach. He was in the 29th ID. To be able to spend the evening with him and #DDay veterans on this #DDay75thAnniversary in #Normandy is something truly special and a night I’ll never forget. 🇺🇸♥️
Such an incredible moment to witness today. Tom Rice, a 97-year-old #DDay Veteran who served with the @101stAASLTDIV jumped once again 75 years later recreating the jump he made in 1944. #Normandy#Veterans
Congratulations to the our newest @AF_Academy 2nd Lieutenants ~ May you go on to lead the World’s Greatest @usairforce , empower your enlisted men & women, and continue the hard work defending our great nation. 🇺🇸🎓 #USAFA2019
(2/2) While we should honor these heroes every day for the profound contribution they have made to securing our Nation's freedom, we should honor them especially on Memorial Day. #RememberTheFallen#Veterans#NeverForget
(1/2) On this #MemorialDay, it is time to pause and consider the true meaning of this holiday. Memorial Day represents one day of national awareness and reverence, honoring those Americans who died while defending our Nation and its values.
