People keep asking me to push for one Mayoral candidate or the other. Trying to decide the best move. Guys...it's over. LA had its chance for a candidate of change back in June, and instead...they voted for continued destruction. Both candidates will make LA worse.

I feel like Hank in that late episode of Breaking Bad...he's already shot to hell, Walt is desperately bargaining with the Nazis to spare his life in exchange for all the money he has. He begs Hank to tell them to take the deal. Hank just looks at him and says "you're the smartest guy I ever met. And you're too stupid to see...he made up his mind 10 minutes ago."

I hate to break it to you, but the fate of LA is already baked into the cake 3 months ago. There's no more wheeling and dealing, no clever ballot trick, no October surprise that's gonna get you out of it. Your chance was in June, and a lot of you just stayed home. Or voted for Alan Miller. I told you to get ten of your friends to vote, and you didn't do it.

Elections have consequences, so I hope you all now appreciate that, and operate with a greater sense of urgency with these things. Vote for governor, you still have a shot. Vote for voter ID. Vote down all the new taxes. But for Mayor, it's too late.

California’s Democratic nominee for governor, Xavier Becerra, as head of HHS, once led the department responsible for a child-migrant facility costing $92,608 per cot — and it may have sent kids to trafficking rings.

The facility cost taxpayers $782 million. Roughly 8,450 unaccompanied migrant children passed through in under a year. Its job was to care for kids and place them with safe “sponsors” (family members or other relatives).

According to interviews obtained by Pirate Wires, the facility prioritized speed over safety. A case manager said sponsors submitted obviously fake IDs, and ID checks were “routinely ignored.” Another worker allegedly raised alarm bells about ~200 migrant kids who’d gone to a single location; when this worker contacted a child trafficking hotline, they were promptly fired.

A separate investigation by Chuck Grassley found that HHS, under Becerra’s watch, sent kids home with sponsors tied to MS-13. And a 2023 New York Times investigation found that some kids were released to trafficking rings, where they ended up cleaning slaughterhouses, suffering chemical burns, or performing hard labor prohibited for minors (in some cases, children died).

Becerra is leading in the polls. He brands himself the “safe choice” given his 30-plus years in government… and claims to “protect” “marginalized communities.”

The city of Spokane is refusing to waive demolition permit fees for fire victims. After losing EVERYTHING, victims have to pay $500 to cap the water and sewer lines under their burned out house. What the fuck is the point of paying taxes? Just like California, Washington uses taxpayer dollars to buy crackpipes and heroin needles for unemployed homeless drug zombies, but when you, the working class taxpayer, lose everything you have through no fault of your own, you still have to pay for this?

These city leaders are so fucking petty they'll still force fire victims to pay $35 for permission to demolish their own destroyed home. Why? You couldn't just waive it? For $35? Yeah, it's not a lot of money, but that actually makes it worse...forcing a fire victim to cough up a meager sum that in NO way actually funds the process in any meaningful way just shows that you are doing it out of spite. Just a nice little "fuck you" to the peasants.

Additionally, the state of Washington is forcing fire victims to pay sales tax to replace the items they lost in the fire. Again...why? The state was never factoring in that revenue...it never existed on the balance sheet BUT for the fire. Government is collecting a windfall from people's LOSSES. There's literally zero need to collect taxes on shit that people already owned.

Back during the mid 90's floods, the state legislature passed a sales tax exemption for victims replacing their stuff. If they don't do this in their next leg session, they all need to go. The one thing WA did is cut property tax on their burned out homes, which is the absolute least they could do.

You assholes never maintain your forests, everybody lost everything, their pets burned alive, and now you're going tack on an extra 9.1% to the cost of rebuilding their lives...for what? Not to mention the fact that a couch today costs probably 2x as much as when they first bought the one they just lost. I fucking hate these people, man.
