Fixing what all your other doctors couldn’t. Reversed my PCOS, endo, and thyroid disease naturally. Supplement opinions are my own, but should be yours
Overall: better than most bars I see
However, some small caveats:
Allulose can irritate the gut, so wouldn’t eat this daily
Fibersol can be an issue for those with gut issues, especially SIBO or IBS. Would check for any kind of overgrowth before eating this regularly
Natural flavors is pretty vague. Not always a red-flag, but would want to know what this is
Small nitpick is also the almond butter. Almonds are heavily treated with pesticides and the anti-nutrients in them can prevent nutrient absorption or cause a bit of gut irritation if you’re sensitive, unless they’re properly soaked/sprouted
That being said, I’d still totally try these for variety, esp if you’re super into protein bars and wanna try something new
I’ve had top doctors also recommend me needless surgery and IVF after misreading basic yearly labs
Doctors don’t usually personally read many of these studies or know different vitamin forms, that’s why many of them recommend things like folic acid instead of folate to pregnant women without blinking an eye. They certainly don’t look at who’s funding these studies.
Fish oil studies are often commissioned and/or backed by GOED, which is the main organization that sets safety standards for all fish oil on the market and it’s entirely made up of fish oil manufacturers
Many of those studies are backed and associated with GOED, which is the organization that single-handedly sets all the safety standards. GOED is made up of fish oil manufacturers (they’re all members)
Some independent studies show negative inflammatory effects
I also see massive difference in inflammation levels in clients when we get them off fish oil and neutralize its effects
Everyone with more than 2 brain cells that has dealt with PCOS or been around it knew this for at least a decade
Why is mainstream science so slow to catch up?
Could have helped hundreds of thousands of women if medical academia wasn’t a massive circle jerk
@EraFoods The calorie criticism is also stupid because not everyone is looking for a zero calorie protein slop bowl
This is amazing for pregnant and breastfeeding moms!
Steroid gym bros mad that the world doesn’t revolve around them
@stockxsucks These were so hyped so I got one a while back and had to throw it away because it was a greasy, stale mess
Can’t believe they’re still in business
Yes!
These are my favorite clean/regenerative options that I found taste really great + are extremely high quality:
https://t.co/3pPExXwlqc
I found that they mix well into everything (smoothies, chia pudding, oats, water, coffee, etc). I use these a lot in various drinks and overnight foods I make
@HilpeaSika The issue is that supplements, energy drinks, electrolyte packets, and many random packaged items use pyridoxine hydrochloride, so it’s very easy to go overboard with it
They sneak it into everything under “b vitamins” and symptoms aren’t always super noticeable right away
Fizzen, a new protein beverage brand co-founded by Kristin Cavallari, just launched at 1,900 Target stores across the country.
Fizzen was co-created by VO/D, the talent venture studio behind 1UP Candy, Frosh, and several other brands.
Fizzen is a sparkling protein drink formulated with real fruit juice, 8g of protein, collagen, and essential vitamins like B12 and B6. The company launched with four flavors:
🍓 Strawberry Lemonade
🍍Orange Pineapple
🍹 Fruit Punch
🍑 Peach Mango
I wasn’t arguing that energy balance doesn’t exist or against the principles of thermodynamics, lol
I’m arguing that factors like gut health, thyroid function, liver function, insulin signaling, cortisol, etc. can all affect the calories out part of the equation. And all of those factors can be affected by specific food choices. i.e., certain foods and additives can hinder weight loss by affecting those factors
That’s why the physiological response to calories not identical across people, which we see all the time in the real world
Which comes down to my main point of: two people with the same diet/calorie intake and workout routine can have different weight loss outcomes, which is why food choice matters (like avoiding David slop)
People who eat shit like David consistently have the worst labs I’ve ever seen, and the worst gut health markers per functional tests like OAT and GI-MAP
They’re also the people who can’t lose weight no matter how “healthy” and protein-forward they eat
This is stupid
No, David isn’t healthy.
But neither is being morbidly obese.
If you wanna mog eat David. If you wanna be fat eat real ice cream.
It’s very fucking simple.
I have no issue saying most people need to eat less (they do) - and they can lose weight that way
What I disagree with is pretending the body is a closed system where all calories are processed identically and nothing affects metabolic rate, appetite, insulin signaling, and beta-oxidation
That’s just not how human physiology works, and many people dealing with chronic weight issues also have severe metabolic dysfunction
I look at people’s labs all day long that are affected by these factors, and their ability to lose fat is significantly impaired until we address the things I listed
Gut, thyroid, and liver health all effect lipolysis, this is extremely basic physiology and biochemistry
I’m not saying CICO don’t matter, I’m just saying there’s a lot more to weight loss than JUST calories. I’ve also never told and never will tell people that being fat is not their fault. It literally is because of their food and life choices, which includes, but is not limited to, damaging ingredients like EGP, and being lazy about making informed choices.
But products like David don’t actually help people, because it teaches them that foods like ice cream and chips are okay to eat, when in reality, it causes a lot of confusion about what healthy foods really are and makes keeping the weight off more difficult (and leads to overeating, because they think it’s “healthy”)
There’s so many things than can cause the body to hold onto fat as a protective mechanism and I consistently see way better and MUCH faster results with people if we work on fixing their gut/thyroid/liver health at the same time as restricting calories
Point is, packaged, refined foods shouldn’t be conflated with weight loss or we’re gonna end up with a population who is even more terminally retarded about food than they already are
I see people in my practice ALL the time where this doesn’t apply. It’s a lot more than CICO for many people who have metabolic dysfunction due to gut and thyroid irritating ingredients
Advice like this is why so many people feel so discouraged and frustrated by weight loss.
I look at labs and functional tests all day that show how these people can’t process fats and sugars correctly due to gut dysfunction
@mattepstein Ruining your gut health and inhibiting nutrient absorption with petroleum-derived additives will actually worsen weight loss outcomes, regardless of how much protein is in a product
If concerned about being morbidly obese, people need to put down ALL processed foods, full stop
